  1. “We don’t feel like that’s pork at all. We think these are essential services to everyone in these communities.”

What do we have to do to nominate this to be our state motto? I want to see this printed on the Illinois state flag.

  2. Thanks for the article on Eisendrath. In the final weekend before the primary, I went with my family to the Dunham Museum in ESL to meet him and his family. He personally called me after the election to thank for the work…. a nice gesture after a disappointing turnout. I can’t wait for the next guber primary, but glad EE is happy to watch the action.

  3. Charlie Wheeler’s fiscal review is perfect for this dark, raw morning. It’s time to sober up. No more new programs. No more press releases. No more raiding funds. No more pie-in-the-sky lease and casino deals. It’s time for kitchen table economics. What, as a state, are our essential responsibilities and what is the best way to pay for them? At this point, all other topics are a distraction.

  4. The state is in dire shape, and here the legislature is worried about people talking on cell phones while crossing the street. Aren’t there more important issues lawmaker’s need to address. Where are their priorities?

  5. The “Walking & Texting/Talking” fine is just another way for the state to EMPTY the pockets of everyday citizens. Laws for laws sake are about as good as MEETINGS for meeting sake.

Notice there weren’t any statistics given about how many “accidents” were caused per year by this “travesty.”

The SPIRIT of society shrinks with each day.

  6. The political bug definitely has bitten Edwin again. Realistically, I foresee another high level appointment in a future Democratic adminstration. but no future electoral office for EE.
