Promises made….

Posted in:

The Rockford Register-Star has a long list of Governor Rod Blagojevich’s campaign promises and whether he’s kept them yet.

It’s worth a read, and the governor doesn’t come out too bad in the end.

  1. What no Rod bashing from the Rod haters out there? What is the problem? Does this article sound like Rod kept some promises? The lack of comments is strange. Maybe all you Rod haters should think twice about opening your mouths. In the end, Rod still has done some reforming and made needed changes in Springpatch.

So role out all the LaHoods, Rauchbergers, Vallas, et. al. None of them have the ability to beat Rod. The voters will remember two main things. NO INCOME TAX OR SALES TAX RAISES.

And, I can’t wait to hear the GOP run their first TV and radio spot in Chicago. I can hear it now: We are the GOP, we believe in smaller and less government. Please support our guy so we can hire more state workers and move state jobs to Springfield from Chicago. O, and by the way, the budget is a mess and we have no clue how to fix it other than to continune to cut jobs or raise your taxes. But hey, vote for us anyway because thousands of GOP members in DuPage and Sangamon County need the work and contracts.

    Can’t wait.

  2. In some ways, Blago is the most libertarian Gov in recent memory. Less taxes, more “user fees”, less state employees. Definitely not a Dem in the traditional Big Government sense. For this reason alone, I don’t think he’ll play out on the national stage. If anyone sabotages him, it won’t be the hapless Republicans…it’ll be his “fellow” Dems.
