The article “2 yrs. later, is Illinois still ’state of shame’?” is not very well done. it appears the author did no research, and covered none of the major areas of contention. For example, the State has a verterans preference requirement in hiring, how about some reaeearch into whetehr the State itself is actually following this law. Of note, there have been previous articles discussing how jobs were listed as being in a distant county with no veterans who were applicants, a donor then recieved the jib, but the job was actually worked out of a diufferent county where there were veterans who would have been entitled to it under State law. Thus, there appears to be evidence that job posaitions have been tampered with to negate the vet preference. Good idea for a story, but bad exectuion.

No mention of the legislation which passed the Senate late last week to legalize and expand internet gambling on horse racing in Illinois?
