My short answer is that this is nothing new: The feds traditionally handle big corruption cases in part because they have more resources and in part because the “gotcha!” crimes in political corruption cases — mail fraud, for example — are often violations of federal and not state law.

What a mess!…a pox on all their houses whilst the state and it’s citizens are poorly served…this continuing nonsense may fuel a renewed call for a throw all the bums out at the ballot box this November…it’s something the Dems should be leery of cuz a large turnout in IL is practically guaranteed by Obama at the top of the ballot…this could also be used as fodder for the RNC as evidence of the dysfunctional political system that is IL and be used against Obama as a product of this type of ego driven style politics…a sane voice must rise from somewhere to cease this melodrama ASAP…
