What exactly will/can be done about gas prices? The dems have majorities in both houses, oppose new drilling, we have not opened any new refineries in years, the oil co execs have been questioned repeatedly and nothing has improved? How are they supposed to control gas prices when I believe prices in Europe and around the world are also going up?

Im not so sure i believe Callahan - she never seems to offer any substance, just points the finger and says im a daughter of this or that, vote for me! i think voters are smarter.

The net difference in gas prices is a function of government taxes. For instance, in Britain $12.00 per imperial gallon (the equivalent of $9.99 per U.S. gallon) versus 4.25 here in Illinois per U.S. gallon. That indicates that an additional $5.74 is taken out by that government in taxes. Which is clearly why ordinary people use public transportation or drive smaller cars.

Wumpus, you mean that DEMOCRATS share the responsibility for higher gas prices? You are knocking them off their message with some irritating facts!

Politics in this state will always be interesting with these types of characters.
