*** UPDATE *** My good pal Jerry Clarke, who is also stationed in Iraq, is the proud father of a new baby girl: Reagan Marie Clarke was born at 8:17 pm last night. 8 pounds 11 ounces. Mom and baby are said to be doing fine.

I’m not surprised Rep. Watson is doing well there in dealingwith the various factions in Iraq. They are probably spell-bound by the accounts of Gov. Blagojevich’s antics. All Watson has to do after telling them what Blago has done is say, “Just do the opposite.”

Anyone know what Battalion he is in over there? Is he with the Chicago battalion that left a few months ago? 2nd Bat., 24th Marines?

“Representative Watson re-enlisted in May as an E-6 Staff Sgt., USMC Reserves, attached to the Civil Affairs Group (CAG) at Camp Pendleton, California.
“Jim is a current Marine Corps reservist with the 3rd Civil Affairs Group in Camp Pendleton, CA, and is a veteran of the first Gulf War.”

I’m not real familiar with Marine Corps structure, but I know he’s deployed with the 3rd Civil Affairs Group, out of Camp Pendleton, CA.
