* Illinois foreclosure filings rise 41% in June

In Illinois, 8,157 homes received at least one foreclosure-related notice in June, up 41.7 percent from the same month last year but down 15.6 percent from May, RealtyTrac Inc. said. Nationwide, 252,363 homes received at least one notice in June, up 53 percent from June 2007 but down 3 percent from May 2008, the company reported.

  9. just got back from the debate…Netsch made a more convincing argument than Quinn, the gist of it being the State Constitution isn’t broken, the working relationship of our elected leaders is…

    I was at the debate and I have to disagree. Ms. Netsch’s argument is not a more convincing one when her solution is to find change, which she seems to admit is necessary, using the same legislative process that she admits is broken.

    Also, she is obviously a studied and experienced figure, but some of her “definitive” claims about how the convention will go wrong were just water-cooler speculation. Unfortunately, many people there seemed a bit too mesmerized by her savvy to see the difference.
