The Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday that Moreno sent word of minority contractor preference through county interim hospitals chief David Small, which led to a sit-down between Garcia and Med Assets President John Bardis, sources said. Med Assets hired Chicago Medical but recently ousted the company, claiming it overbilled by as much as 135 percent.

  2. I’m not a republican, but LaHood has been good for the state. Not too happy with him over his treatment of Sen. Fitzgerald, but Fitzgerald got what he needed to get done by installing Pat Fitz.

    Obama is keeping with his word by putting in some Repubs in his admin.

  5. It seems like the city, state and suburbs got together this winter to take a calculated risk on snow and ice removal.

    It’s really bad out there. This is the worst I’ve seen city streets since Michael Bilandic’s unfortunate incompetence in 1979 led to Jane Byrne and the best (and surely most expensive) snow removal operation in the world.
