So you think that you were removed from office because the assembly wants to raise taxes? Oh really? And the state’s fiscal crisis and your failure to address it had nothing to do with your loss of popularity? Oh really? And those phone calls–WHEN YOU KNEW THE FEDS WERE LISTENING–had nothing to do with your impeachment? Oh really? Comment by wow Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 2:07 pm

  46. Is there any truth to the rumor that you are changing your name to Quinn, getting plastic surgery, and moving into the 3rd floor of the guv’s mansion under the Feds Witness Protection Program?

    Comment by A Citizen Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 4:35 pm

  54. “Bringback Fred Winston and Bob Sirott”

“Would it kill you guys to play some Freebird?”

    also

“How do you sleep at night?”

I think I would rather listen to Howard Stern, throwing slices of baloney onto go-go girls, than listen to Rod broadcasting baloney to the state’s listeners. I predict a 20-minute run-on sentence about the Cubs season, followed by a commercial break, rinse, repeat.

Roe Conn and friends could have some fun with him later.

Who wants to advertise on Rod’s segment?
    AIG
    The State Lottery
Dose Two Guys Asphalt paving and construction
    Ric Delman
    Billy Mays
    Quality Document Shredding
    Bob’s Bail Bonds

As far as Rod talking politics, he should probably be co-hosting with Art Bell, not Don & Roma,

  59. When the feds came to arrest you in the wee hours of the morning, did you really jog in place and drop on the floor in the fetal position then jumped back up only to repeat again? If so, do you find this type of behavior a bit strange?

  60. Who do you plan to try to throw under the bus so you can walk away from the whole mess?

    Comment by Retired Non-Union Guy Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 8:09 pm

  61. Long time listener, Guv, first time caller, sorry for the lengthy question, but:

Jim Hendry lost Kerry Wood and Mark Derosa, the heart and soul of a team that won back to back Central division titles, but still couldn’t bring home the world series. Now he’s brought us Milton Bradley and Aaron Miles, and thinks Marmol will be the dominant closer this team desperately needs. Hendry is paying $140 million to a bunch of injury-prone journeymen. Ticket prices are at an all-time high, beer is $6 and the food still sucks. Everybody knows this team isn’t as good as last year’s, except apparently Hendry.

Considering his record versus yours, are you surprised he’s still working and you’re not? What advice would you offer the Rickets family if you were the Cubs general manager? Historically, where do you think this Cubs team will end up? Who was your favorite Cubs GM?

Thanks. I’ll hang up now and listen to your answer.

    Comment by 47th Ward Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 8:21 pm

  62. “…we’ve traced the call… it’s coming from your studio!!!! Get OUT OF THERE!”

About the third hour, he’s gonna run out of memorized poems and Cubs stats, and he’s going to start trotting out his old anecdotes. Which one will be first, d’you think: dead elephant, boy in the manure pile, Bill Clinton Air Force one, Be for the people/get my nephew a job, or… rolling down the tinted window and being mistaken for Eddie Shwartz?

Comment by Dispatcher Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 8:48 pm

  63. Levois, channelling Adlai Stevenson at the U.N. during the Cuban Missile Crisis! Outstanding!

In that spirit, I’ll borrow from Mr. Joseph Welch:

“Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”

Comment by wordslinger Tuesday, Mar 24, 09 @ 9:07 pm

  64. Wordslinger - “Point of Order, Point of Order!”

Comment by soybeans Wednesday, Mar 25, 09 @ 4:36 am

  71. Did you see the History Channel story this week on the Chicago Outfit’s involvement in the political process? Pat Marcy, Fred Roti, and Operation Gambat were featured. Please tell us your insight into the Outfit’s involvement in Chicago and Illinois politics?

Comment by Peoria Joe Wednesday, Mar 25, 09 @ 6:07 am

  72. I had to morph back into my split personality just for this one.

Why no “live Blogging” in the Blago Sphere this morning?

I have to say for a guy that could be a master at “sound bites” both good and bad, that the Governor seems to be multi-task challenged and managing the radio shot clock this morning.

When the buzzer goes off to end this Arbitron inspired experiment I think the Ravenswood home team will be disappointed with the results.

    Comment by Blago Sphere/Quinn T. Sential Wednesday, Mar 25, 09 @ 8:08 am

  73. I sent the following to WLS management

Blago goes on — I go elsewhere, IND or GN.

Mancow does another Drew Peterson suck up –I go elsewhere, IND or even FMT-98.7

No wonder Don and Roma went on vacation this week.

Got anybody else in mind? How about Heidi Fleiss? She would be just the third of three whores.
