Question of the day

Posted in:

* I’ve pretty much settled on a new look for this website. I should be rolling it out in a couple/three weeks.

* The Question: Is there anything - information, plug-ins, links, content, etc. - that is currently not on this website which you would like to see added?

Thanks much for your help.

  13. In the interest of keeping government honest, beyond what Capitolfax already provides, how about a ‘whistleblowers’ section. I know such an idea will be hooted down by many, but pol’s and bureaucrats visit your site due to it’s credibility…let them know they are being watched. You pick up the mantle that newspaper conglomerates have dropped.

  17. In honor of this Web site owners and several readers/ posters common hatred of the Cubs, would it be possible to get a smaller, less significant Cardinals RSS feed?

  22. Under the Sox feed how about a Cardinals feed?

Of course you can still ignore the Cubs!

    Comment by BIG R.PH. Friday, Sep 11, 09 @ 1:09 pm

  23. You should list the news feeds in order based on some revenue sharing agreement. You send traffic their way, they should pay for that.

I wish there was a way to comment on multiple postings at once.

  24. Where’s the shop page at? I want to know where I can order my “Cap Fax” t-shirt, mouse pad, coffee mug, scarf, winter cap, bow tie…

Comment by CLJ Friday, Sep 11, 09 @ 1:45 pm

  25. In addition to the GA Bill search, a short list of direct links to key bills. I know, there are a lot of “key” bills, but this could be the top ten from each chamber. Bills that are active, have a high potential impact, have been in the news a lot. We read the blog for your opinion, so we should take it in this case.

An alternative would be something akin to the morning shorts, where you list the top bills for the day with little (or no) comment other than that they made the list, and the thread remains open for readers to add bills they are watching. (ie. HB ### will be on its 3rd reading in the House today and is the primary vehicle for a sales tax on service.)

  26. “The Capitol-Fax Doghouse”: Everyday State Legistlators can compete to be placed in the “proverbial” doghouse, decided by their moronic actions as deemed by you Rich. Put it way at the bottom of the blog, with a headshot of the said legistlator in the doorway.

  27. Link to a sample copy of the Capitol Fax so newcomers can see if they are willing to plunk down the $350.

  33. Daily/Weekly/Monthly pass for those that can’t afford the yearly one? Although that may get tricky when a Governor will make you give free subscriptions to Senior Citizens.

Comment by Dave Friday, Sep 11, 09 @ 4:08 pm

  34. tom roeser blog

Comment by jt Friday, Sep 11, 09 @ 4:10 pm

  35. How about a weekly or bi-weekly straw poll on the current crop of gubernatorial candidates from now until the February Primary?
How about an Illinois Hall of Shame (or a link to same) for those politicians that Rich & his readers deem to be an embarassment to our state of Illinois and our citizens? We could cast our votes annually for those we feel deserve to be so honored.

Comment by The Prophet Friday, Sep 11, 09 @ 4:24 pm

  36. jt, Tom’s blog is part of the Blog newsfeed box on the right side of the page.
