* ILGOP…
In a Nod to Madigan, Longtime Madigan Front Group Expected to Endorse Pritzker
IL Dem County Chairs Assoc. has funneled campaign cash to Madigan’s allies and vulnerable House Democrats for years
“ILDCCA President Doug House is taking orders from Madigan - that’s why tomorrow’s expected endorsement of J.B. Pritzker comes as no surprise. For years, Madigan has used the ILDCCA to funnel campaign cash to his allies and vulnerable House Democrats. Now, Madigan is using the ILDCCA to bestow Pritzker with the Democratic nomination for governor.” - Illinois Republican Party Spokesman Aaron DeGroot
Tomorrow, the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association will be conducting a vote to endorse a gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Democratic primary. In a nod to Speaker Mike Madigan, the ILDCCA is expected to endorse J.B. Pritzker, Madigan’s candidate for governor.
ILDCCA President and Madigan front man Doug House has already stated he will be casting his endorsement vote for J.B. Pritzker. House’s endorsement comes as no surprise - he’s already urged his fellow Democrats to “play nice” and not upset Madigan, as Madigan continues to steer support to Pritzker.
House and his predecessors have long done Madigan’s bidding and used the ILDCCA to funnel campaign cash to Madigan’s allies and vulnerable House Democrats.
After taking big campaign checks from special interest groups associated with Madigan and allies of Madigan in the General Assembly, the ILDCCA turned around and funneled that campaign cash to former House Democrats and Madigan-enablers like Kate Cloonen, John Bradley, and Mike Smiddy.
It’s clear the ILDCCA is one of many Madigan front groups.
Now, Madigan is using the ILDCCA to bestow Pritzker with the Democratic nomination for governor. The fact that Madigan will do anything to ensure Pritzker wins the nomination should worry Illinois voters, particularly Democrats.
I count 19 mentions of the word “Madigan” in that release. And it’s 21 if you include the subject line of the e-mail.
*** UPDATE *** From the ILDCCA…
Rich,
I wanted to respond to the ILGOP press release that you posted on the blog. This is the typical ILGOP response to everything. Blame someone eles for their constant failures. This response is also hysterical given the ILGOP has been bought and paid for by Bruce Rauner.
The IDCCA is made up of 102 independent County Chairs who will meet tomorrow and decide for themselves who will be the best candidate to defeat Bruce Rauner.
While the ILGOP continues to become unhinged in the midst of their own civil war, at least they could come up with something better than the same old response.
If you need anything else, please let me know. Thanks
Dan Kovats

See to your own house, phony “ILGOP”, it appears Raunerites want to be Republicans again, and Bruce and Diana Rauner need to keep their property bought.
I’ll say this about the old Rauner Word Jumble…
It may have used Madigan 6 times, I’d go as high as 8, but not double digits.
This new Raunerism going with 19 “Madigan” mentions must mean Goldberg and Co must’ve took the advance software with them when Diana Rauner wanted that IPI messaging change.
- Honeybadger - Friday, Oct 6, 17 @ 10:56 am:
And the ILGOP (formerly known as the Raunerite party) is/was ok with the money Rauner gave to them? They are ok with the money Dick Uihlein and Ken Griffin gives to them?

I think it’s great that the Illinois GOP is so concerned about lowering the stress levels of Democrats. Maybe Republicans should offer some backrubs, too, while they’re at it.

Wow if this were a drinking game we’d all be dead.
I wonder if there’s a saturation point on the Madigan messaging technique. At one time I would’ve thought so, but after the continual focus on Hilary’s emails during the national presidential election and how well that worked for Trump I’m beginning to think there aren’t saturation points for messaging anymore.

Rauner is polling 63% disapproval.
Rauner signed HB40, the only governor in the country to sign an abortion bill so liberal.
Rauner has no full year budgetary success.
But, “Because Madigan”, lol
I guess saying it 19 times makes Republicans forget HB40?
- Lucky Pierre - Friday, Oct 6, 17 @ 11:02 am:
OW you mention “Rauner” 5 times and Diana twice in your 7 line word jumble so the hypocrisy about “Madigan” is a little thick.
You are still the only poster that is concerned with Diana Rauner daily. How does she poll?

Not that facts would stop the ILGOP from running Blame_Madigan.4.0.exe but the County Chairman’s Association for years was the actual state party for the rest of the candidates that weren’t Democratic state reps. For a number of years they even managed/licensed the national Democratic party voterfile, until DPI finally took it over a few years ago. Painting them as a Madigan puppet operation is pretty silly to anyone who actually knows Democratic politics.

The next name the IL GOP is going to need to start focusing on is TRUMP. I expect their candidates, especially in the burbs, will get an assist on that from the Democrats. An unpopular plutocrat POTUS paired with an unpopular plutocrat gov. Good luck with that. That’s definitely a “movement” to quote Rauner.
Madigan won’t be the GOP’s trump card. Trump will be the Dem’s trump card. (See 2006, see 2010 for how that works.)
- DownstateKid - Friday, Oct 6, 17 @ 11:22 am:

I’ve heard this same exact line used for Nancy Pelosi. “She isn’t running nationwide.”
IF you think Madigan won’t be an anchor statewide, I got some beach property right along the Mackinaw river.
And to Lester, the Illinois GOP is moderate, but if anything Rauner stuck to his original promise. I personally wanted an AV, but this is where I think OW is right: The anger will subside, a Dem will emerge from the primary and the ILGOP will come together to win the map.
OW has decent analysis when it doesn’t directly pertain to Rauner or his wife. But utter the R-word and the big boy loses his marbles. It’s kinda sad watching his declining state since the 2014 Pub primary.
- Fax Machine - Friday, Oct 6, 17 @ 11:22 am:
Pritzker is the only Dem Rauner has a prayer of beating.
The Kennedy or Biss negatives are nothing compared to Rauner’s disastrous record.
However, Rauner can go nonstop negative on Pritzker over Blago, his property taxes & being Madigan’s hand-picked candidate and muddy him up enough to make it a 50/50 race, especially now that Pritzker can’t make pro-choice an issue in the race.

I’m gonna give one take on this Gov. election and this copy & paste.
It’s a pure turnout game if it’s Pritzker vs Rauner. It will be extremely negative, nasty and expensive. Each man can flood the airwaves everyday for months.
Rauner will have few accomplishments, the one-who-cannot-be-named in top office and potential for a change election.
Pritzker will be another billionaire running for top office of a party that is increasingly anti-rich, anti-white male and tethered to Madigan.
Both men will depress turnout. We shall see who wins.

I know; it is only bad when the other guy does it. By the way, your writer stinks, I think you guys should hire a ghost writer. It couldn’t hurt, and your messages might make sense.
- Lucky Pierre - Friday, Oct 6, 17 @ 11:32 am:
The linkage of JB Pritzker to Speaker Madigan is richly deserved.
JB is the only Democratic candidate to not criticize the Speaker’s conflict of interest as a property tax lawyer or his policies.
Apparently JB is fine with the Speaker’s policies that have been disastrous for Illinois.
The Speaker talks about working to raise the standard of living for Illinois residents but he is only concerned about the middle class workers in the public sector.
His polices have hurt the middle class as our property tax, workers comp, legal and regulatory environment discourage employers from expanding in Illinois.
He has done nothing to reign in runaway spending that has reduced the standard of living for poor and middle class families through record tax increases.
He has never introduced legislation for the progressive tax structure JB advocates for. What makes them think it could pass now if it was not even proposed during the 12 years of total control of state government by Democrats?
They are counting on zero backlash to incumbent Cook County Democrats after they voted for record tax increases without any reform of state, county or city government or our business environment.

There’s a speaker in the land that frightens the Right
Who eats an apple each day and rules each night
So when the Rauner’s Agenda collapses and fails
He blames the speaker in campaigning wails
He does the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
It’s loaded with trash
Bruce does the Bash
As he spends his cash
He does the Bash
He does the Madigan Bash
From his extra mansions, he likes to buy
Rauner promises the Right a pack of lies
About how he’ll do this, and then do that
But once the tries to govern, his promises fall flat
So he does the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
As our credit crash
He does the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
It filled with trash
Just when ILGOP realized they’d been had
That Bruce Rauner was governor, was really bad
He had wrecked our state from up and down
So the Right demanded that he leave town
But Bruce did the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
Watching Illinois smash
He did the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
He was ILGOP’s cash
His zombies were partying
IPI was having fun
Staffing his administration
Acting like they had won
But Bruce had a card, up his sleeve
That sold them all out, they’ve too been deceived
So he did the Bash
The Madigan Bash
The Madigan Bash
A campaign rehash
He did the Bash
As ILGOP’s teeth gnash
Bruce did the Bash
The OLD Madigan Bash

Dear Doug House
IDCCA President:
Thank you and the IDCCA for your hospitality over the course of the year. I am writing to you
knowing your choice for the Democratic primary. Although I will disagree with your choice, I hope
you hold that individual to represent Democratic principles. We have had failed Governors both,
Democrats and Republicans whom have promised the world and delivered nothing to progress our
society here in Illinois. I know, and my supporters know, that I am truly genuine in my cause and will
stop for nothing to get progressive reform in this state. I am glad that some of my opponents have
started talking about important issues after I have made the public aware of the absolute atrocities
this state has committed again the poor, the middle class and the children of this state. When you
do vote for your endorsement of JB, please take into consideration that money in politics is
corrupting the moral fabric of this country. Money gets you to the table, but it does not mean that
you will get a quality candidate. I hope you chose someone that is genuine, that understands how
real people struggle in this state and whom wants to stop the divide and conquer politics that is
making people flee this state, and I am that person.
To make Illinois Prosperous once more we need to:
• Reduce the crippling Tax Burden on families, freezing any property taxes increases
• Issue a balanced budget that is fair to the Middle Class
• Provide protections and opportunities for the Middle-class, Blue-Collar worker through
reforms to strengthen Unions and an increase to the Minimum Wage
• Pass criminal justice reform and refocus resources from prisons to rehabilitation programs,
and social and mental health services
• Increase funding to K-12 education and childcare
• Spreading the wealth across the state and not only to Chicago
• Legalize the sale of Cannabis, with tax revenues funding educational programs
