This race is hilarious!! I give Dillon’s camp props for firing shirts right back at Bourne. Except Dillon’s shirt should have read, “Fire the Raunerite” IMHP. /s
When Ms. Bourne can figure out what her school districts get versus other school districts get, like Chicago… then I’ll take her seriously.
Like Rauner, a prop t-shirt is probably as good as it gets.
To the Post,
I guess the T-Shirt I’d like to see is…
“I sold out to Raunerism and nearly closed state universities, I crippled social services, and I helped run up large debt for Illinois, and all Bruce gave me was this lousy t-shirt”
Southern Illinois politicians just going through the motions. We have real issues that neither of these people will be able to help fix. It’s easy money taking that job.
Boy am I getting old. They look like high school kids to me running for class President

===Always interesting to learn where people think “Southern Illinois” is.===
They’re in by the most generous “anything south of Springfield” definition, but a ways from the “South of I-70″ or “South of I-64″ that are probably more accurate.
- Under Influenced - Thursday, Oct 11, 18 @ 12:35 pm:
Bourne has nothing. She’s never passed anything or had any significant accomplishment. She occupies space and survives by feeding her constituents a steady diet of Downstate republican talking points. I had higher hopes for her when she was elected, sorry I mean appointed.

For me, Ms. Bourne has been the biggest disappointment of all the appointed Raunerites and here is why.
The constant and continued ignoring of factual information, be it coal or school funding, to attach herself to narratives and not be an honest leader to policy… as Lorenzo warned Calogero…
“Wasted talent. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.”
Ms. Bourne is too willing to be what others want her to be, instead of being a leader, someone who stands out. Right now, Ms. Bourne is no different than any other person Rauner chose for that seat… and Ms. Bourne is better than that, but won’t be that… and it’s a shame.
It’s a great shirt.
It shows Ms. Bourne’s surrendering her talent to be one, not unlike so many others.
I am a south of 64 man, myself, but a former co-worker who was originally from Evanston once said that her definition of southern Illinois was anything south of Oak Lawn. It wasn’t entirely clear to me if she was kidding at the time.
Southern Illinois is always south of wherever you are from

This is the equivalent of watching two kids on the playground playing a round of “I know you are, but what am I”. With everything going on in this state, in this district, THIS is what these two kids decide to focus on? We are doomed.
== fighting over the job with the bloated state pension ==
All the newbies are in Tier II, and any of them in competitive districts face pressure to forego any pension. So as new legislators take their seats, they get smaller pensions with much smaller AAIs, or none at all.

Shouldn’t Clark have a bunch of fake firefighter patches on his shirt?

Hmm…
I dunno if a phony fireman wants to wear a t-shirt with the word…
“Fire”
… anywhere on it.
But… that’s just me

I wonder if Bourne would take bets on who gets fired, Rauner or Madigan.
Please let me know if she is.

Might want to tuck your thumb into your palm when pointing at a picture of politicians with the word “fire” on top.

Governor’s Representative vs. prospective citizens’ State Representative.
Ms. Bourne was picked to fill the seat of a sitting state representative who was shooed away.
I, and many others, fail to see the merit in that.
