Todd Ricketts is on Erika Harold’s fly-around?

Monday, Nov 5, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller

* And no Gov. Rauner…

That’ll start the tongues a-wagging. You’ll recall all the speculation about a possible Todd Ricketts 2022 gubernatorial bid last month.

…Adding… The question mark in the headline doesn’t mean he might not be on the fly-around. He is on the fly-around.

  1. - Grand Avenue - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 3:58 pm:

Todd Ricketts is the guy in the 3rd picture talking to Rodney & Erika

  2. - NWChicago - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:00 pm:

Does Rodney Davis only make public appearances where there is sure to be less than a handful of constituents?

There’s hardly any people in these pictures who don’t look like staffers or elected officials themselves.

  3. - Jibba - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:05 pm:

We need to break the rich guy cycle. There has been one R, and now likely one D. Try an experienced politician next time, please. Perhaps an R can spend the next 4 years trying to get stuff done and develop a bipartisan track record he can run on.

  4. - depressed in politics - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:09 pm:

“And no governor Rauner” THAT’s the lead right there.
    MJ

  5. - Nearly Normal - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:09 pm:

Why now show up for a fly around? Where was Todd in the race earlier? Too busy with baseball?

  6. - NotRich - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:10 pm:

I think the “fight for the soul of the Illinois Republican Party” will be very entertaining the next 6 months…

  7. - 47th Ward - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:11 pm:

We already have one Ricketts brother running Nebraska and another one running Wrigleyville. I think that’s enough for one family.

  8. - lollinois - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:13 pm:

== Does Rodney Davis only make public appearances where there is sure to be less than a handful of constituents? ==

Not to mention if Davis is in Granite City he’s outside his district chasing spotlights the day before the election.

  9. - Cubs in '16 - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:17 pm:

Well, there is that HB40 thing…
Bruce, this is what it means to be irrelevant.

  10. - depressed in politics - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:19 pm:

    On another thought, Ricketts/Harold 2022

  11. - Shytown - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:20 pm:

And that’s two Ricketts too many.

Stocking a supply of popcorn…and liquor…lots of liquor.

  13. - Natty_B - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:27 pm:

You can just FEEL the lack of energy in those pics. Inspiring!

  14. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:29 pm:

    Dear Mr. Ricketts,

    W-I-L-L- with a Y

    After thanksgiving, I’m traveling.

    Thanks,

    OW

  15. - Highland IL - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:31 pm:

How awkward is it between Patton & Kay? Remember Patton isn’t running as a Republican because he signed Katie Stuart’s petitions.

  16. - Beating a Dead Horse - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:36 pm:

As more and more billionaires keep running for office I really think we need a LAW that states you cannot be on the ballot unless you release your complete tax returns for x amount of years.

I am getting more and more worried about who these people are beholden to and why they are wanting this power when they already have unimaginable money and power.

  17. - Chicago Cynic - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 4:59 pm:

    “Dear Mr. Ricketts,

    W-I-L-L- with a Y”

You trying to get on the Ricketts gravy train to take on JB…already?

  18. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 5:02 pm:

    - Chicago Cynic -,

I’m 1,000 times more likely to be callled by Pritzker… and that will never, EVER happen… so it’s just a silly joke.

    :)

  19. - Nick Name - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 5:14 pm:

===Not to mention if Davis is in Granite City he’s outside his district chasing spotlights the day before the election.===

Ugh. I’ll wager that Dirksen Londrigan is IN the district, hard at work with GOTV.

  20. - Stumpy's bunker - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 5:39 pm:

    ==Ricketts/Harold 2022===

Good grief. The proletariat will need all four years to construct the barricades needed for that onslaught.

  21. - Amalia - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 5:48 pm:

isn’t Todd one of the names on the George Carlin list of don’t name your son this name?

  22. - City Zen - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 6:12 pm:

==Perhaps an R can spend the next 4 years trying to get stuff done and develop a bipartisan track record he can run on.==

Because that plan worked so well for the other side.

  23. - Chicago Cynic - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 6:48 pm:

“I’m 1,000 times more likely to be callled by Pritzker… and that will never, EVER happen… so it’s just a silly joke.”

Oh cmon! After all the nice things you’ve said about “the crew?”

  24. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 7:00 pm:

===Oh cmon. After all the nice things you’ve said about “the crew?”===

Oh, I never said I expected to hear from them.

I’m saying I guarantee I won’t be hearing from them.

I’ll just observe from a distance.

  25. - Just Me - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 7:08 pm:

Please, no more billionaires as Gubernatorial candidates. Can we just have someone with real experience for once?

  26. - DarkHorse - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 7:23 pm:

    Ricketts/Harold in 2022?

I can see why Ricketts would do that.

Is it a good look for Harold to latch on to yet another uber rich patron? I think I’m voting D.

  27. - park - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 7:56 pm:

Boy, hoping for her tomorrow. Rauner is toast, and we need a check on the GA. Liked Lisa for most things, but she had no interest in ensuring good government in Illinois whenever it conflicted with MJM’s interests. Understandable, but not good.

  28. - Hyperbolic Chamber - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 8:33 pm:

    More pallets n’ people

  29. - Elliott Ness - Monday, Nov 5, 18 @ 8:38 pm:

    Are we signing Harper?
