* From a reader…

On the entrance of a north suburban Walgreens, I assume because misinformation is out of control.

The pic…

I thought they had it in the basement of a pizza parlor… /s

  2. - Chuck - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 12:37 pm:

Looks like Willow and Pfingsten in Glenview / Northbrook

  3. - Picture Taker - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 12:44 pm:

It’s Waukegan and Shermer in Northbrook, but that looks like a corporate notice and I bet they’re up in multiple locations.

  4. - 1st Ward - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 12:49 pm:

Did they run out of bleach?

  5. - Chatham Resident - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 12:54 pm:

I had to stop at the Walgreens in Chatham, IL on my way to work this morning. There wasn’t a similar notice there at least as of early this morning. At least not yet.

  6. - Huh? - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 12:57 pm:

No worries, the virus is going to disappear when it warms up.

=== Oh wait, what happened to summer? ===

    Ask California.

  8. - DownSouth - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:00 pm:

I’m not sure I have ever in my 60 years spent as much time shoveling through such incredible amounts of misinformation. Lord I long for the days when “fact checking” was a relatively simple endeavor.

  9. - TaxTheMemes - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:04 pm:

What is the significance here? Seems like a normal posting for a pharmacy that gives vaccines during this time

  10. - DownSouth - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:18 pm:

The significance is that as of now, there are NO COVID vaccines available or approved, yet so many are thinking (due to the horrendous amounts of misinformation floating about) that there are COVID vaccines available. Apparently so many that the store felt compelled to post such a sign.

  11. - Nick Name - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:22 pm:

If only there were some, I don’t know, a chief executive with national authority somewhere who could clamp down on rumors by delivering a consistent, informed message.

  12. - Steve Rogers - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:31 pm:

@Taxthememes: I thought that was snark, but I guess not. The significance is we have a president who has been saying that a vaccine will be ready in October, but we have health officials who say summer of 2021. Then we have a president who calls those health officials liars. This is not a normal posting at Walgreens

  13. - Reader - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 1:52 pm:

A couple of different Walgreens in Western Illinois have these up as well. I think it is because of the announcement from HHS that Walgreens and CVS will help distribute the vaccine when available.

  14. - Jocko - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:04 pm:

To be followed-up by this sign next Wednesday.

“Contrary to the opinion shared by some, the virus is still here.”

  15. - Huh? - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:06 pm:

“Contrary to the opinion shared by some, the virus is still here.”

And here i thought the virus was going to just fade away. Nuts.

  16. - Chicago Cynic - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:09 pm:

Back to another post today, it boggles my mind what people actually believe.

  17. - thechampaignlife - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:12 pm:

    ===COVID-19 VACCINE NOT YET AVAILABLE===

They should have added a subtitle: “As soon as an FDA-approved vaccine has been proven safe and effective, we look forward to providing it to keep you and your loved ones healthy. In the meantime, be sure to get your annual flu shot and any other needed immunizations.”

  18. - TinyDancer(FKASue) - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:31 pm:

    Covid Vaccine Not Yet Available……

Yeah, too bad they shut down that vaccine safety office.
    Don’t hold your breath.

  19. - Bruce( no not him) - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:35 pm:

But after November 4th, you won’t need the vaccine. /s

  20. - Independent - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:38 pm:

    “But my Facebook friends said…..”

  21. - DuPage Saint - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:46 pm:

On the bright side, someone must be asking to get vaccinated and not worrying it is a plot by Bill Gates

  22. - Liandro - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:52 pm:

People are desperate for their lives back, but I’m glad the FDA has been pushing back and demanding a strict, safe process to produce it. There is enough anti-vac nonsense out there without creating actual, valid ammo for that cause.

We need a vaccine, but we need it done right. I hope the production and distribution channels are ready for what is to come, though. Walgreens gearing up is a good sing.

  23. - @misterjayem - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 2:59 pm:

While in no way intending to excuse blockheads or the peddlers of misinformation, I wonder how much of the presumed confusion is due to the compound message, “The COVID-19 pandemic is still here, so be sure to get your flu shot.”

Heaven knows I said similar things on multiple occasions.

And I’ve said it because it’s true — get your flu shot.

But I can see how that message could be somewhat confusing to the more easily confused.

    – MrJM

  24. - Huh? - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 3:13 pm:

Why do we need a covid vaccine? We’re turning the corner on the pandemic. It’s a fake news anyways. /s

  25. - Night Rider - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 4:31 pm:

I saw this same sign at a Walgreens in the western suburbs last week, so it must be from corporate.

  26. - A-Town - Tuesday, Oct 27, 20 @ 10:16 pm:

Saw the same sign Sunday evening at the Walgreens on the far west side of Aurora. Constitution/Galena
