    The sad news continues every day. It’s difficult to have any sense of hope.

    Govenor,

    Please enforce the mask use. I just found out that your director of labor has the ability himself to make a rule for all public sector employees to mandate mask use at all times. So why hasn’t this happened yet.

    EMPLOYMENT
    (820 ILCS 219/) Occupational Safety and Health Act.
    (d) The Director, in promulgating standards dealing with toxic materials or harmful physical agents under this Section, shall set the standard which most adequately ensures, to the extent feasible, on the basis of the best available evidence, that no employee will suffer material impairment of health or functional capacity even if the employee has regular exposure to the hazard dealt with by the standard for the period of the employee’s working life.

    Will a reporter please question this to him? I’m getting sick of people not doing their jobs and I would argue the director of that agency needs to do this immediately.

    I know Monday numbers are usually on the low side, but d**n, this is double yesterday’s total and either the Thanksgiving surge is yet to come or this is just the tip.

    Lake county - we are playing catch up with delayed reporting of last weeks tests due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I don’t think we are caught up yet. I expect Wednesday and Thursday numbers to be higher too. Then we will start getting the numbers that actually reflect people being exploded at Thanksgiving beginning Friday and continuing next week. Just my opinion.

    Fun stuff as the virus runs wild, Dan Caulkins is currently in a bicameral meeting arguing that businesses should get state money if they break public health law.

    ==So why hasn’t this happened yet===

    We’ve had a mask mandate since May.

    This is a very sudden increase after a consistent dip over the last week or so, and it seems at least a little bit like the big bump we saw after Labor Day weekend tests were finally processed after people were off. Any chance of this being what’s going on at least for this particular massive bump?

    Seems like if the general incubation is 5-7 days, we’ll be seeing the results for people getting sick and tested by the end of this week.

    20 of 125 are in Cook County. that is way out of proportion for the population. Mask up, Illinois.

  9. - The Dude - Tuesday, Dec 1, 20 @ 6:47 pm:

    Rich

    We got cops all across the state refusing to mandate the order. Im saying he can mandate that they(the cops themselves) use them and enforce it.
