A handful of democrats started to realize that it doesn’t matter how you frame your messages, republicans will still be the party where misogynists make policy, so you might as well be direct about the particular right to healthcare you intend to protect.
I am anxiously awaiting the first DeVore ad. I’m certain it will be memorable, hard hitting and powerful enough to change the trajectory of his campaign.

Nice try, LP, but the data don’t go as far as you say. The poll says that somewhere about 85-90% of Americans think that abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances, even after 24 weeks. And those sad circumstances are exactly why most women get abortions later in their terms (fetal abnormalities, medical issues, etc.). I think the Dems are exactly where they should be.

A woman whose six-month old fetus is dead inside her because of Hurricane Ian is now waiting in a hospital in Florida because she cannot legally have the fetus removed until her life is in danger.
As for rare? Republicans are opposing sex education, and trying to make birth control illegal now as well.
Is there an Illinois Republican holding office who believes abortion should be legal, safe and rare?

So, in the face of an all out Republican threat to have the government take control of women’s bodies, what do Illinois voters want?

Later term abortions are rare. The vast majority of late term abortions are due to medical necessity. In the case of pregnant children, the realization that they are pregnant may come late. That’s why tying the hands of medical professionals and the people they care for is wrong.

What happened is Republicans want children, rape and incest victims, women facing real health choices… to not have abortion available.
That’s what happened.
That framing, that’s a great cause to the safety, health and welfare of women as a real charge for a life’s work.
Unless you think it’s important that an incest victim of 12 carry a pregnancy to term for her rapist, maybe family member.
