Second the motion. Road tripped to Carbondale for the SIU basketball game and it was a phenomenal day. Sunshine, 60-degrees, Salukis, victory!
Ditto to the previous comment about the weather. It was a great weekend (and a good day today) in Central Illinois for taking the family out to the park.

Why is this “accounting exercise” so important?
December 2022 IOC released the Traditional Budgetary Financial Report (cash basis), showing General Funds improved from -$3B deficit to $0B. Back of envelope, CAFR could show General Funds deficit of $0B. Yet, the State will get no benefit from this.
Without OAG’s imprimatur on CAFR, this means nothing. Any benefit will be realized 6 months late. Through 2000, CAFRs were on time. They’ve been late ever since, mostly due to acts of omission / commission by John Filan, Pat Quinn, & Bruce Rauner.
Relaxing? Rich’s OR Goldmine statement piqued my bored mind’s interest to have some internet fun. Started with family, always know that. Brother in casino connections, wife who worked for brother. Meh. Sadly, son who died in 20s from addiction. So sad. Who is Gus Vallas? A Gus Vallas from San Antonio donated $500 in 2019 to Paul’s campaign. And in 2022 a Gus Vallas in San Antonio who is a police officer was involved in a deadly on duty shooting. Oh now this is way above my bored searching no pay grade…..
per one list that shows San Antonio and Palos for the San Antonio Gus Vallas and a comment on Twitter from April that criticizes the shooting…comment right on Vallas Twitter…the police officer involved in the deadly shooting, Gus Vallas, is the son of Paul Vallas. this colors everything.

and per the Sun Times notice of the death of their son, it says that his mother is a former police officer. deeper and deeper.
