One of the public speakers at last night’s Springfield City Council meeting called for the Illinois State Police to take over the Springfield PD. In light of charges of excessive force and police brutality last Saturday night during an animal cruelty and domestic violence call in the Harvard Park neighborhood:
Personally, I’m to the point that Springfield city government needs to be run entirely by the State. Even if it means that the Governor appoints the mayor, city council and all other city officials. Might get some better governing and things done in the city.
To the post, thank you for posting that video. great morning listen. Blasted it through the house. I believe that Frampton is vastly under appreciated. He’s simply fantastic and the guitar version of the talkbox is great. Granted his decision to participate in that Sgt. Pepper’s movie was not wise but back then there was a whole make him a star he’s not the star Springsteen is thing going on. Wild that Springsteen opened for him at least once. Watched that Madam President show partly because Frampton appeared on it. Appreciate true rock genius while we still have it.
Shaw is reporting that Rep. Murri Briel was joined by Speaker Welch at a town hall yesterday in Ottawa, and the Speaker said data center regulation is coming to the fall veto session as part of an energy bill.
This week, City of DeKalb turned down a development involving two small “boutique” data centers with an accompanying solar array. The rejection was mostly driven by public sentiment surrounding issues of transparency, but use of resources was on the list of cons, too. Also it didn’t help when people figured out “boutique” means “crypto data mining.” BTW, these little solarized “boutiques” are popping up all over the state — the companies that wanted to open one in DeKalb own dozens.
