Where is the rain? Sad to see all the field fire reports pop up in Central IL yesterday

ICE escalated majorly over the weekend in Chicago: teargas canisters deployed outside a grocery store and an elementary school, agents shot a woman, handcuffed an alderperson in a hospital for asking to see a warrant, arrests are becoming more and more brutal. As a runner in the marathon this weekend I’m scared for participants and spectators.
is there a law professor, lawyer, the best local authority who can explain the conflict of laws between what we think is law under which we function and the powers the Feds have in border actions? go lawsuits but it is getting very confusing here in Chicago

@Blue Dog it is incredibly unclear because there is no video (ICE is not releasing bodycam - only 1 agent had theirs turned on, the other 2 agents did not). ICE also put the location wrong in their version of events. Federal agents claim the woman was armed. According to witnesses, though, this unarmed woman and other cars were blocking the ICE agents by boxing in their car and the agents opened fire on a woman in her car. She drove herself to the hospital with injuries.

I can’t help thinking that when the Texas troops get here, something will start to hit the fan. Negative thinking I know, but how can one help that now?
Me, I want to know why folks that shoot to kill someone who drives away from them would let a women who they say -had a weapon- drive away from them.
The DHS version of the incident is:
patrolling agents were “rammed by 10 cars” and “boxed in.” Agents then fired “defensive shots” when they discovered the woman “was armed with a semi-automatic weapon” while driving one of the cars, McLaughlin said.
The Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ have not independently verified the feds’ account. The exact time and location of the shooting weren’t immediately known.
I really don’t like how frequently I see these words precede accounts of violent exchanges between private citizens and agents of the state. We deserve so much better.
Watching the video of Noem being refused entry into the Broadview municipal building to use the bathroom. I get the feeling that she asked previous to the video, was told no, then was filming and told the person on the other side of the door that they were filming, hoping to get a different response. I wonder what she would have done once she got inside with her posse. Such a place would have plenty of info on the citizens in the area. https://www.reddit.com/r/illinois/comments/1nxbicd/you_shall_not_poo_said_chicago_kristi_noam_forced/

McLaughlin said “no law enforcement officers were seriously injured,” and the wounded woman “drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.” But Larry Merritt, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman, said she was found near South 35th Street and California Avenue and taken in fair condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Said woman who was shot also happens to be accused in a US Customs and Border Protection intelligence bulletin last week of allegedly publicly identifying agents and protest ICE.

The charges that DHS has filed against the woman make no mention of a weapon. https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndil/media/1415966/dl?inline

Her telling protestors to leave the country is insulting. We already know she doesn’t respect the Constitution, but it’s almost like she’s bragging about not caring about the 1st Amendment. https://www.reddit.com/r/illinois/comments/1nxgasb/in_chicago_noem_tells_protesters_leave_this/
