* “I honestly can’t recall a single time that he ever questioned my judgment” is a classic Paul Vallas quote…
JUST IN: Former Chicago mayoral candidate Paul Vallas is among those who wrote now-unsealed letters of support for convicted ex-Ald. Edward M. Burke.
"Ed is worthy of whatever leniency you see fit to provide," Vallas writes. pic.twitter.com/qjqPxKR3bM

Not questioning his judgement is the greatest compliment anyone can give Paul Vallas.
It’s very fitting that over half of the letter is about him, rather than the person he’s vouching for. Note to self: Never ask Paul Vallas to be an employment reference.

MBJ is no star, but it’s hard to convince myself that Vallas would be much better. How can we as citizens work to draft a competent Mayoral candidate in 3 years? I’d gladly take Mike Quigley, Matt Martin, or Susana Mendoza.

It’s a rather impressive self-character reference for Paul–not sure it helps Burke though.

The judge received a lot of these letters. If he only reads the first page of each, he’ll wonder if this one was put in the wrong file folder.

“and those of his wonderful wife who is no doubt devastated by the trial outcome”
LOL. That is truly funny. I didn’t know courts were supposed to use the penalty phase consider the feelings of defendant’s family members about their loved one getting caught and convicted. I wonder what Anne Burke thought about that argument all the times she heard it made by all the unconnected peasants who cycle through the criminal system.

“Susana Mendoza”
If yesterday’s news was any indication…she’s working on it.

Vallas certainly is a legend in his own mind. I think the timing is right for him to head back to Haiti and continue his heroic career.

I may have missed something. Is this related to the CPD funeral or some other news I can’t find?

“But that’s enough about me — let’s talk about what Ed Burke thinks of me…”

Is Paul Vallas auditioning to be Eddie Burke’s driver once Eddie gets out of the joint?

Vallas is so lousy that I’d still vote for Johnson over him.

To paraphrase what Johnny Carson said when introducing Burt Reynolds-
“What can you say about Paul Vallas that he already hasn’t said about himself.”

Susanna Mendoza? She wrote the ultimate endoresement letter for Burke when Burke hosted her wedding.

1) Can we finally stop pretending that Paul Vallas is a smart person?
2) Did some people forget Mendoza is attached to Burke at the hip?
