* This is how I’ll always remember my four brothers. My dad had a side gig delivering Phillips 66 gas to farmers and we posed in front of his truck. The photo was taken in, I think, 1975, when we were preparing to leave Iroquois County because my mom had been hired by the Department of Defense and was being trained at the Savanna Army Depot in northwest Illinois. We eventually ended up living in Utah and Germany. Isabel’s dad, Devin, was a baby then. My dad, Isabel’s grandfather, is holding him in the pic. I’m standing next to Dad wearing my Shaw-Waw-Nas-See 4-H Camp t-shirt…

Thanks to my brother Darian (front row left) for posting the pic. We called him “Toothless” back then.

Anyway, what’s up by you?

  1. I missed the thread yesterday but put me in the camp of voted for Johnson, now strongly disapprove of his performance.

I just want a competent mayor with progressive policies, who does not pick unnecessary fights, and is not MAGA lite. Seems like it shouldn’t be that hard yet here we are.

  4. Great photo. There’s a lot tied up in that photo. A dad working two jobs with a slew of kids. What a great memory.

  5. Sorry, to me pix looks like long haired hippie members of the Weather Underground who hijacked a gas truck to avoid the 70’s gas rationing./s

  6. Love the picture. My Dad too delivered diesel and gas to farmers in the 70’s. Received our product from Meier Oil in Ashkum.

  7. Camp Shaw Was Was See I remember being a waterfront director at that same camp in the 70’s. It was one of the best camps I worked at except, the week we were there it never stopped raining and the bridge that divided the camp washed out and we had to evacuate all of the 8th graders at outdoor education field trip-a very powerful lesson on flooding witnessed first hand.
