A poll memo from the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association shows Stratton “emerges as the clear second choice among Underwood’s prospective supporters.” Here are the toplines.
The poll shows in a three-way match-up Stratton is at 33 percent, Krishnamoorthi at 20 percent and Kelly 11 percent. It also shows 42 percent of voters are undecided. The poll was conducted by Public Policy Polling.
It actually doesn’t show that. And it’s not a new poll. It’s a poll that was released a few weeks ago and then the results were reconfigured in a way that benefits Stratton…
Please please please do not try to pass off the results of an informed ballot test, let alone an informed ballot test that relies on reallocating second choices, as an accurate reflection of a race!

Haven’t been super sold on the results of that poll and not in love with the methodology used from the jump.
But, this is amateur hour nonsense and her campaign team should be embarrassed. Just run your own poll. You have the resources. Being cheap and using nonsense tricks when you can just do it right is an unforced error. Add this to the “damaged goods” comment about Underwood and I would like to ask whoever is running communications for Stratton some questions.

Can money buy elections? I do not think so. At the end of the day, the IL electorate will voice their support to the most experienced candidate in both parties on Primary Day. Respectfully, Lt. Gov. Stratton has a light resume for this role to serve in this elite group of 100. Mr. Krishnamoorthi will get the nod based on experience, leadership, dedication, and overall personability.

Imagine taking all of the time to write that yet not having a solid platform of specific issues or proposals to run on.
The Lt. Governor’s campaign website didn’t even show up in the first two pages of a google search of “Juliana Stratton for Senate” and I only wrote it out that specifically because it didn’t show up when I just googled her name. Ultimately I went to her twitter profile to check to see if she has one.
When one eventually gets to her website there is nothing there other than a brief statement where she talks about values without defining them, treating the needs of the middle class without saying who specifically that is, what specifically those needs are, and how she thinks we should be doing that, and then talking about Donald Trump and Elon Musk — neither of who will actually be on the primary ballot.
Her campaign really has some other things to be working on than getting the Democratic Lt. Governor’s Association to write whatever that is supposed to be.
There’s only one poll that matters and her campaign really doesn’t seem to be focusing on what it takes to win that one.

Just to add, her campaign staff have also had — plenty — of time to drop a poll on anything that they wanted to poll on and the fact that something like this is getting recycled suggests that either they don’t have the resources to do any of their own polling, or their own polling isn’t favorable.
But by all means, lets keep talking about the 10th dentist.

Stratton won against Dunkin because of Mike Madigan and his operation. She is trying to use the same tactic to win the US Senate race by having billionaire JB fund an IE to win it for her. I have no problem with her, except I do have a problem with others trying to anoint us with their preferred candidate.

History tells us your some summary has some truth, but in reality Dunkin’ was just a big word mope who sized up GovJunk and got a free weekend in NYC and tickets for U.S. Open Tennis. This time there are some real opponents with some cash. The campaign really needs to get it together. BTW did it develop a Gaza answer yet?

Lt Gov Stratton spent $225,000 in the first three months of this year. Most of that on consultants, and 1 or 2 staffers all out of her state campaign fund that she has been traveling and boosting over the last year + (which is all perfectly legal I am sure since some of that $ went to a law firm). I hope she doesn’t go the way of Blair Hull and the rest that think money and high paid consultants can win her the race.

Taco Man - To your question, can money buy elections? I won’t even try to interject on our national political scene, but all you have to do is look to Chicago to see what money, motivation and a process that ensures low turnout gets us.
