Krishnamoorthi continues fundraising prowess

Posted in:

* Raja Krishnamoorthi press release

Today, the Raja for Illinois campaign announced that he has raised over $1 million in the two weeks since entering the Democratic U.S. Senate primary.

The significant haul – first of its kind in the crowded primary contest – adds to the campaign’s significant resources. Prior to entering the U.S. Senate race, Raja raised an “eye-popping $3 million” in the first quarter of this year, ending March with over $19 million on hand.

No other candidates in the race have disclosed their fundraising totals.

“Over the last two weeks, thousands of donors have chipped in what they can to support Raja because they know Illinois families need a U.S. Senator who can take on Donald Trump and fight for our families,” said Raja for Illinois Campaign Manager Brexton Isaacs. “Raja has spent his career standing up to bullies, and, thanks to our generous supporters, he will continue to do just that in the U.S. Senate.”

  1. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with. That is a decent haul by any measure. Just call me Daddy Warbucks, Raja.

  3. Hard not to wonder how many ampaign staffers were pushed to the mental brink by Raja to get this big number.

    Hats off to him, he’s good at what he does. Just wish it wasn’t at the expense of the sanity of a bunch of 20s and 30s year old staffers :/

  4. Is it possible to find a breakdown of who/what industries is/are contributing all this money?

  5. “Hats off to him, he’s good at what he does.”

    Hard to give him that much credit when he does it on the backs of young staff that he berates if they don’t raise enough.

    Won’t get my vote, can’t get behind someone who treats other people like that regardless of their policy positions.

  6. Illinois is certainly not afraid to vote for someone with money to spend…will they not blink an eye at someone who is boasting about how much he’s raised from corporations and special interests? I can’t wait for the breakdown of who has helped him reach this $20 million.

  7. As I have said, this ‘wonder kid’ will quickly clinch the Democratic nomination next March. Can JB’s millions help LG Stratton by passing Raja to the nomination?

    Well, I’m 53, and back in my day if we didnt like the grind or the attitude of the candidate, we wpuld resign and do something else. Has something changed?

  9. Are these young people somehow being forced to work for Raja?
