  1. I’m not a Tom Devore fan, but he’s gotta be loving this post. This is a sure mailer in a primary against McCombie. McCombie hugging Welch won’t play well in the MAGA world.

  2. The Eastern Block is having a good day after seeing this Rich.

  3. This is a great bi partisan look for the Speaker, but if I’m McCombie, I would give him another$5 bucks to take that post down.

  4. Democratic party leaders confer….

  5. I had to tell Toni several times that Devore is on my payroll to troll her. She just couldn’t wrap her mind around it.

  6. If he can get the Far-right to primary Tony or any of her other members for being pals with Dems it reduces the money she will have to fight battles in the general. It’s all in the post - “we passed a balanced budget”. Makes it sound like she was part of passing the budget, which included a billion dollars in tax increases.

From all accounts reported, during the session, the GOP was cut out of most negotiations, including the budget. Even Rep Delgado chastised Senator DeWitte for thinking he or his GOP colleagues had any clue or were any part of the transit negotiations.

  7. Getting in a final bet before the .50 tax goes into effect.

  8. I prefer civility in elected officials, even when they strongly disagree on some issues. If civility in our government is seen as weakness, then we are lost.

  9. I remember John Kass used to rant all the time about the “bi-partisan political combine” which he would claim was the real power in this state (he may still, but I don’t read the Trib anymore). I bet this picture would have his confirmation bias at full blast.

  10. === would have his confirmation bias at full blast===

Pretty sure that’s his standard level.

  11. === Pretty sure that’s his standard level ===

    Hehe.

    Default setting, so true.

In the 1990’s, Kass was Tier One, must read. But Kass was barely relevant his last years with the Chicago Tribune.

Now the Tribune editorial board is barely relevant.

I am not sure anyone in the GA, state government, any lobbyists or advocacy organizations wake up in the morning wondering “I wonder what John Kass has to say?”

Comment by Yellow Dog Democrat Wednesday, Jun 11, 25 @ 4:53 pm

  12. “I don’t read the Trib anymore”

The Tribune’s journalists would want me to tell you that Kass hasn’t been in the paper for four years.
