  1. Absolutely fascinating interview of a small county coroner in Carroll County about the death investigation of Jackson Kradle, a 17 year old who was possibly struck and killed by a vehicle driven by an off duty sheriffs deputy.

Even in small rural counties there are professionals and elected officials acting with the highest standards and it really shows in this interview. The coroner gives some praise to the ISP investigation and there is a glimpse into the process of utilizing a special prosecutor from the appellate prosecutors office. It is very apparent that public confidence in elected officials is important to both the coroner and his special deputy who is a retired attorney from the area. It was a “more like this” moment for me personally.

  2. ok, the Sox lost. but the audible gasp of Gordon Beckham on color as Colson Montgomery hit that massive home run was exactly how I felt watching it happen. the kid is for real.

  3. Cubs sinking. Fred Sanford had better items in his junkyard then the scrap reclamation projects acquired by Jed Hoyer at the trading deadline.

  4. The Cubs didn’t trade for reclamation projects. They traded for two good back of the bullpen arms who should still be just fine despite Kittredge’s one bad inning.

    Soroka, on the other hand…

  5. Cubs are pretty well cooked, to my eyes. They just seem lifeless. Brewers might not lose again(of course they will, but they seem invincible). Soroka going on the DL after 2 innings is pure comedy.

Dealing with my first plumbing issue of home ownership. Partial first floor toilet clog causing a sewage pump issue. Not excited for what the plumber will tell me when they come check it out tomorrow. But that’s life, I suppose.

  6. Hoping for some day baseball magic to salvage the series.
