If I were Eisendrath, I’d start TV in Chicago now to grab a huge chunk of those undecideds. 53% for a sitting Governor in his home county is an invitation to be beaten. What is this guy waiting for?
As for the Olympic numbers, I wonder how many would be supportive if they knew how much of the money to host this will come out of their pocket?

Rich - I rarely disagree with your poll analysis, but the Stroger numbers reveal big trouble for him. An 11-year incumbent and the longest serving member of the board cannot be polling at 32 percent.
And your comparison to Obama is incorrect. Most folks didn’t know who Obama was or that he was black until they saw the t.v. ads. Black voters know who Stroger is — they’re just fishing for an alternative.
If Claypool is smart, he’ll spend part of every day over the next nine weeks courting black voters.

Hey, there’s no doubt that Stroger is in trouble, YDD. I thought I made that clear. Maybe not. I often hedge when writing about polls because one never wants to put all one’s faith in a single survey. Maybe I did that too much today. Dunno.

Cook County Poll
Rich has a poll of Cook County voters over at the Capitol Fax BlogBiggest news–Stroger is in big trouble–Claypool up three on him. That’s huge. Notably, Blagojevich’s numbers are only at 53% in a match up with Eisendrath at 13%. …

I would have expected Eisendrath to be higher even without any name recognition because of the ABB vote

It seems like the percentage of African Americans (27%) is a little low for Cook County, but I don’t really know. Does anyone have any insight into that? It obviously has strong implications for the Stroger-Claypool numbers.

Bluefish, I am sure Eisendrath has the DESIRE to go up on Chicago TV (who wouldn’t?). But similarly, I have the DESIRE to own a yacht and oceanfront property. It is, however, the money we are both lacking for these endeavors at present.

If the Olympics came to Chicago, how much taxpayer money would have to go into it?

Look for a story in tomorrow’s Forest Park Review that will hurt Stroger’s image.
How much will it hurt? Dunno. But the Forest Park Review is available online so it will be available to bloggers.
Stroger relatives making over $100K aren’t supposed to be punching law abiding citizens, are they?

It’s not much of a surprise that the Stroger/Clayppol race is favoring Claypool in accrodance with the Glengariff Poll. Stroger seems to have a scandle every day. Stroger can say bye-bye to his seat.

Uh, perhaps some of you should check out the source of that poll. It’s a guy from Michigan who has worked for a series of Republican losers for some time.
There are other internal polls showing Stroger up by double digits. You wouldn’t know it from the blog world, but that’s what out there now.
