· This is way late, but Meeks sounds somewhat serious. I’m still not ready to believe he’ll run, though.

· Ryan jury intrigue. Sounds like they’re not getting along and maybe one or two holdouts.
· Krol has a look ahead. Good stuff.
· Topinka leaves impromptu “mini debate”
· I don’t know why this guy thinks that Topinka was the “best funded” candidate in the primary, but this isn’t a totally bad analysis.
· Duckworth versus Roskam a clear-cut clash
· “Birkett proves he’s a strong addition to Topinka team”

- how about giving serious thought to that before re-nominating him in the first place?
This whole episode demonstrates perfectly why I moved out of Cook County. Taxes are ridiculously high, governement is corrupt and inefficient. But the most important consideration for deciding who should be the next to manage that government is skin color?
Absolutely ridiculous.

According to chicagoelections.com website, with 89% of precincts in, Sandoval is only up by 43 votes vs. Garza

“Woe is us,” you have to look at the county totals, too. That district includes Cicero and Berwyn.

I guess my point is this: HDO is nothing without the (white) party bosses. HDO hasn’t won a single election on their own.

The fact that Sandoval and the other embattled Hispanics on the Southwest Side got support from non-HDO sources (such as Ed burke, Mike Madigan and John Daley) to help them win renomination does not mean a rebirth of HDO. It merely notes that these officeholders had enough sense at least to find alternative sources of political assistance.

Meeks - the question is: Is he serious, and will he do a Harold Washington Party on Blagojevich? (If you have any questions, ask the “winner” of the 1990 governor’s race, Neil Hartigan.) Or is this nothing more than an attempt to get Blagojevich to drop the “no income or sales tax increase” so schools will receive a significant funding increase? (A related point is Blagojevich’s assault weapons ban an attempt to appease the black community?) Answer that question, and we’ll know if Meeks is serious … .
