* As usual, I couldn’t get the official State Fair video to import to my computer, but, luckily for us, Illinois Statehouse News was also at yesterday’s “celebrity” harness race…
Many congrats to Mica, who was more than a little nervous about her first time racing. Now, of course, she wants in every year. Patterson has been such a braggart about winning last year’s race that it was just a wee bit satisfying to see him out of the money this year…
The winner’s circle…
* Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon’s band played at the Miller Tent after the race…

Rich, hard to tell from the video/photos, but are you racing in tandem with pro drivers?

I had the opportunity to Jog a horse for 4 laps, it made me into a big horse racing fan. I told them they should have the legislators come out and do it to persuade them to pass the legislation. It is unfortunate that if the slots at the tracks does not get signed, that horse racing industry (as well as all the jobs associated with it) will move to New Jersey and other states that are more friendly to the racing industry.
Ervin Miller who was the Trainer of the Year last year has moved most of his stable to Jersey with the exception of some horses kept in Balmoral, and they will be gone if Quinn doesn’t sign the bill. It is a shame.

Pretty cool.
Even with the pro driver, there’s some risk. Kudos. Just glad the lawyers allow it in this day and age. (I didn’t even notice the tandem until someone mentioned.)

Rich next year the Cap. Fax Nation will make sure they all pull up at the 3/4 pole for a break. We can’t have our leader finishing anywhere but first.
