re: Speaker Madigan’s plan to cap union raises.
I propose that we cap legislative salaries and benefits first, since those folks work part time anyway and have plenty of time for a second job

Rich, please ask the CME CEO exactly how many people the exchange employs in Illinois, how many would leave if they “moved,” and how many would remain to support the floors and Aurora co-location.

Apparently, you missed my follow-up, word. They got freaked out when I posted that and canceled the interview.

Thanks, Rich. God forbid that these guys would have to answer some tough questions before getting handed $100 million.

You simply cannot convict someone of a criminal offense without identifying them. I guess they are banking on a majority of people paying without contesting. If someone requests a trial they will have to dismiss case.

Under this law a speeding violation in a safety zone is not a criminal offense.

I knew the legislature was up for sale, but it has been a while since I saw so much action, taken so quickly, with so little debate, with such longstanding consequences. And in every case the issue rolled towards the big money and their lobbyists, to (redacted) the little guy. I have to believe the votes today are going to come back at these legislators, come election time. They must be counting on short memories and long retirement accounts.
