So the most urgent matters facing Illinois citizens, as reflected in their elected General Assembly, are:
1. A tax break for the enormously profitable exchanges, because the current system is “unfair” to them, Sen. Cullerton said last night on the news.
2. Whacking earned pensions because of previous failures to adequately fund them.
3. Fast-tracking more Big Brother monitoring equipment that will pay off like slot machines.
And speaking of slot machines….
4. More gambling.
Who knew those were our priorities? I was way off in my thinking.

You summed it up well Wordslinger. Just pathetic.

Yep. Those are the top items on the agenda. But I trust that our elected representatives and senators really know what is best for their children. The older we get, the smarter we realize they are.

Dave,
The big difference is that LaRussa is a winner.

@ Bill-LOL.
Except that the Pritzkers aren’t providing a golden parachute for LaRussa either.

Duffy is out of patience with ILGA.

Duffy sounds like one of the guys in the movie “Boiler Room”, as they try to sell a mark on some penny stocks. Or maybe he sounds like a car dealership salesman “I’ll have to take that to my manager, but the undercoating is put on already at the factory…”
I’m not sold, neither should the Leg. be.

I can’t believe the overhaul to pension doesn’t include State police. Crunch the numbers people.

Well, you may say the CME is wildly profitable, and it may be. That does not entitle anyone to their bounty. 9.5% corporate taxes have consequences. If they leave hundreds of Illinoisans will have to either leave with them, or look for alternative employment.
