It’s not Friday, but I’m not working tomorrow so let’s make this a somewhat light-hearted QOTD.
Which team ends up with the better record this year, White Sox, Cubs or Cardinals? Why?
Place your bets, please.

White Sox, b/c of Starting Pitching and probably around 400 HR’s from Jim Thome.

Thome has been amazing this year, and for the most part these are the same guys who brought the Championship Trophy home last year so I am going with the White Sox!

Cubbies. 3.2 million….Oh, you mean wins not attendance. I don’t know, um, Devil Rays?

Thome will get hurt/definitley slow down. I’d take Derek Lee over Jim Thome anyday. Thome is an incomplete player, but a great teammate and can give you good power numbers. He is tooooo sloooooow and strikes out too much. Pujols is the best out of the three.
I say the Cardinals will have the best record. The Sox have a huge target on their back. The Cubs always choke and the Cards always come throug.

June 20 21 and 22 will be the best three games to watch this year. The Sox are a cinch unless injuries happen. Anybody else notice that Big Frank is batting .080.

Sox - two-peat. Why not, it has been awhile, they have a good team, and that World Series PR brought a taste of some nice side deals for the players. They’ll hussle for more. Cubs - rebuilding for next year, again, but, the beer is cold in the stands and the fans will come. Cards - sold out new stadium so life is good there already.

Pretty tough not to pick the White Sox out of the three. They are better this year than the team that just won the World Series. The Cubs aren’t going to be as bad as predicted, but we need to get our china doll Prior back on the mound. He needs to pitch a bunch and win 15 to 20 games if the Cubs stand a chance this year. As for the Cardinals, every year I think this is their year to stink, and every year they wind up in the hunt, but because I am a Cub fan, I pick the White Sox, Cubs and Cardinals in that order.

White Sox edge the Cardinals in this contest mainly because of the question marks right now in the Cards’ bullpen and the Sox are pretty much the same team from last year. Sox are solid all around. Cards are dealing with a little more parity in their division this year as well. Seems the Sox only really have to contend with the Cleveland Crew and maybe the Twins. Cubs are still the Cubs. Better lineup, better bullpen, but only half a starting pitching staff again.

Sox are the same team from last year, but do people really think that Konerko is the franchise player? 12 million too much to spend. Thome can’t hit 103 homers so he’ll slow down and someone else better pick up the slack. Cards, Cubs, Sox.

Lloyd Braun…you really are crazy.

hey, Lloyd B - who do you like for Governor? Jim Meeks? Makes as much sense as saying the Sox, same as lat year’s World Champs, are going to finish lower than the Cubs.

The White Sox have the best lefty relievers of all three teams!

My Momma always tells me to tell the truth so its gotta be the Cards! Sox could a close second expect the Tribune to sell their team to Petey Fitzgerald and others right wingers (remember he is in the hunt for the Washington Nationals and the Tribune is looking to dump non core assets)
