None of the above. Will be watching the Cardinals win the NLCS tonight instead.

What’s more important? The economy, world peace, healthcare, or the Bears/Cards?
Comment by Allen Skillicorn Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:25 am
Da Cards
Comment by Eileen left Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:27 am
It’s impossible to avoid Bears texts during the game. I’ll record the debate and if my guy loses then I’ll know not to watch.
Comment by Ben Marcum Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:28 am
Bears, and that’s it. Already know I’m voting for Obama as it is, barring a major implosion at the debate which will assuredly be reported on anyway, so it’s not like I’ll miss anything.
And Allen? Da Bears are more important.
Comment by TJ Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:29 am
“Since Da Bears are da grate-ist team in da world, and I know dat da spread of da game will be … Bears two-hundred sixty two, Lie-uns, four … I Kan’t not watch da Bears, knowin’ dat dey are givin’ da Lie-uns such a chance.”
I voted “flip back and forth”
Comment by Oswego Willy Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:30 am
Don’t follow sports anyway except for the Cubs & Red Sox … it will be a dinner out w/friends and then all back to the house to watch the debate.
Comment by RNUG Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:32 am
Rich,
interesting second choice … “presidents” … slip of the tongue just like Obama during the last debate?
Comment by RNUG Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:33 am
I’ll play Madden 2013 on Playstation tonight rather than watch either de bears or de-bate.
Comment by Mike Huntoon Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:34 am
I’m going with the Cards, too.
Comment by Old Shepherd Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:37 am
I’ll flip back and forth, and probably get confused.
Romney fumbles, Obama scores, Cutler misspeaks, Stafford stumbles, Sheiffer throws another flag, Romney chastising the refs, Lovie complaining about not getting enough time.
The way we cover politics like they are sporting events makes these two events essentially the same thing. The only difference is that the Presidential candidates have nicer uniforms and the outcome of the football game is not subjective. Lions fans may think their team “won” the game, but the scoreboard will be the final authority, not Sean Hannity or Rachal Maddow.
Plus, and more importantly, tonight’s game has fantasy football implications for me and I can always catch a live-blog of the debate later.
Comment by 47th Ward Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:39 am
Highlights of debate will be on all night, next day, and SNL. Got last night’s Walking/Talking Dead to go through.
Comment by zatoichi Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:40 am
I don’t understand the question. Aren’t the
Bears on all the stations?
Bears, of course.
You can always read about the debates and be informed.
But one must watch, with intensity, to receive the full emotional satisfaction of the thunderous smackdown the Bears are going to put on those cheap-shot punks from Detroit.
To our Cards friends, good luck, here’s rooting for another series with Detroit (Tigers, good; Lions, bad). Some of us will live vicariously through both teams’ fans as they drive through our state to the games.
Comment by wordslinger Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:41 am
The talking heads from FOX and CNN will tell us what was really said regardless of what we all see with our own eyes, and hear with our own ears.
Comment by in Paris Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:42 am
Romney will do supurbly without our watching. Obama will continue to misstep. We’ll see both over and over again.
Da Bears will be far more energizing!

multi tasking. it’s what is required in a President, so it’s the least we can try to do.
Comment by amalia Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:45 am
Da Bears. I know who I will be voting for, and the debates won’t change my mind at this point.
Comment by DITKA Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:46 am
My Cards are making me suffer through another game 7 NLCS game. O well I could have been a Cub fan with no hope after May 1st.
Comment by nieva Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:46 am
Neither. I’m going to see some unorthodox bands in Chicago but I’ll follow the progress of both on Twitter. I hope there will be a consensus winner for each by the time I get home.
(By contrast, MrsJM will be toggling between the debate and the Bears game.)

I could swear , cheer, or throw items at the TV for either event.. but I will choose to do so watching the bears. As I life long and long suffering Cubs fan, I am cheering for the Giants..
Comment by Mr.Big Trouble Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:48 am
I’ve seen enough. Da Bears! Also, being a good conservative, I’m too cheap to have ESPN at my house. This means I may actually spend MORE money going out to a sports bar. We’ll see.
No comment from the peanut gallery…
Comment by Liandro Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:48 am
I have a third conflict. I’m attending a political fundraiser at the same time? Bears? Presidents? Fundraiser? 15 more days!
Comment by Louis G. Atsaves Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:50 am
I will flip back and forth…ineptitude on display on both channels…
Comment by Loop Lady Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:52 am
–I’m going to see some unorthodox bands in Chicago but I’ll follow the progress of both on Twitter.–
Youth is wasted on the young (I kid).
What’s an “unorthodox band,” anyway — they don’t keep Kosher?
Comment by wordslinger Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:55 am
I will record both and watch the NLCS in the other room. Go Giants.
Comment by So. ILL Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:55 am
Who gives a crap about the Bears (or any other Chicago team for that matter) GO RAMS! GO CARDS!
I’ll be watching the Cards-Giants game and recording the debate for later. Election already over with. Romney in a landslide.
Comment by Where's Mike? Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:00 pm
Neither.
I don’t follow sports.
The debates will be re-debated over the next week so why bother watching it happen.
Comment by Belle Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:01 pm
Hey …hey …HEY!
Rich, Crain’s stole your poll!
Comment by Oswego Willy Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:03 pm
Rich, cant believe you left out the best and obvious choice: The Cards/Bears!
Comment by SO IL M Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:04 pm
Bring little TV next to big one. Watch presidential debate with sound on. Watch Bears with sound off. Flip to Giants/Cards during Bears commercials. Go Giants!
(I miss my old Picture in Picture TV.)
Comment by Anonymous Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:11 pm
Hopefully, I’ll be watching the Giants take the pennant.
Comment by Anonymous 2 Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:14 pm
Cardinals-Giants.
Comment by Robert the Bruce Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:21 pm
anonymous 2: sadly, I don’t think this will happen…can’t stand STL…
Comment by Loop Lady Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:23 pm
That’s easy, the Bears. Highlights from the debate will be repeated, ad nauseum, on all the cable news stations, all week. Why bother?
Comment by Wensicia Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:23 pm
Cards/Giants-may flip to debate when Giants are changing pitchers
Comment by Soccertease Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:27 pm
Cardinals - of course!!

Sold our Bear tix to watch the debate. At least one part of the evening will be profitable.
Comment by Anonymous Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:37 pm
I’m not sure who annoys me more–Romney or the Bears.
I have a dvd to watch. Besides, I voted this morning.
Comment by Cheryl44 Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:37 pm
Bears, DVR debate, Cards on the radio.
I miss the pic-in-pic as well.
Comment by Arthur Andersen Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:40 pm
The Bears will be more exciting. I can listen to the debate tomorrow while working on other things.
Comment by BMAN Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:41 pm
Since the kids don’t have school tomorrow it is a chance for the son and I to watch MNF without him having to go to bed before it ends…
Also
I can count on twitter for pals to tell me their guy won and the other guy is an idiot…
Comment by OneMan Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:42 pm
Eh, I know who I’m voting for. I highly doubt something will happen during the debate to change that. At least there’s more unexpected outcomes in a Bears game. (Or a Giants/Cards game).
Comment by MKA1985 Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:50 pm
Bears. I voted already, so the “debate” doesn’t matter to me.
Comment by Huh? Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 12:59 pm
Cards V Giants Game 7.
Comment by one day at a time Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:10 pm
Cards, of course. Can’t believe all the bitter Cubs fans pulling for the Giants.
Comment by Ray del Camino Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:12 pm
Dancing with the Stars and The Cards.
What is said at the debate is not going to change what the candidates are really going to do if elected. One candidate I believe the other I don’t. One I trust and the other not so much. So if I am going to watch someone dancing around the issues it might as well be to music. Costco shirts. Really??????
The President gets hammered for taking time to get to the bottom of the Libyan attack, with many unknowns, and Mitt takes all the time in the world to release an already known thing, his tax returns? I don’t have enough blood pressure medicine on hand to watch the debate. Besides if Mitt doesn’t care about 47% of Americans I don’t care about him. Sorry, kick that soap box outa here.
Comment by Irish Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:13 pm
The Cardinals–and maybe some debate between innings. The Cardinals and Obama both pushed to the distance-hopefully they both pull it out in the end.
Comment by SIUPROF Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:20 pm
Record debate, and primarily watch Da Bears while checking in on NLCS Game 7 at commercials. Too much good tv on one night!
Comment by BigDoggie Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:21 pm
Meant to vote not watching either. Go Birds
Comment by Anonymous Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 1:23 pm
I have 2 TVs in my man cave so I’ll watch the Debate and also have the Cardinals on at the time

I’d watch the Cards but I hate Joe Buck.

You’re never too old to be a bad example, Word.
I’m sure there is a taxonomically precise sub-genre for PPPMMM, but I’m a lumper not a splitter.

There’s really important questions to be answered tonight….
1) Can Earl Bennett take over from AJ tonight?
2) Can Jay Cutler start out hot instead of waiting until the 2nd half?
3) Can the D force more turnovers? (It’s like +8 to -1 for the Lions).
4) Want to see if our interior O line can hold off the Lions DT’s.
Da Bears, of course.

At least there will be people appearing on that programming choice that I like! Go Bears!
Comment by Bearsss Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 2:28 pm
Cards and Giants, then watching the debate highlights on BBC America
Comment by G'Kar Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 2:45 pm
Watch the debate, DVR the Bears. It takes 45 minutes to watch a 3 1/2 hour game.
Comment by DE Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 2:51 pm
Watching the Bears. It will be a more polite affair.
Comment by Norseman Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 2:54 pm
Going to be watching the Cards win their second NLCS in a row!
Comment by Rusty618 Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 3:15 pm

Not watching either. I’m watching the Cardinals game. Why wasn’t that listed as a choice?
Comment by Charlie Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 3:27 pm
I voted flip back and forth, but that’s not quite right. I’m watching the debate live-streaming on my laptop with the Bears on mute in the background. Hopefully there will be some entertaining found art- Obama claiming “that’s not true” right after a blown call or something.
