Two more weekly orders of business announced

* I was taking Oscar the puppy to the vet for his shots (he behaved like a real champ) and wasn’t able to post this e-mail from the House Democrats. I’ve made some spelling and punctuation corrections so it’s easier to read…

Requests have been filed for noon on Tuesday to discuss amendments to HB 1155, 1156, 1157. I expect these will be firearm safety measures dealing with assault weapons, and noon Thursday on amendments to HB 1154, 1165, 1166. These are pension measures.

  1. Ahhh 1155, now its time get another list of crappy amendments that will never be law just to play “gotcha”.

  2. Glanced at them. Way too much reading for these tired eyes full of plaster dust tonight. All these bills are starting to blur together when you read them. Quick impression HB1154 A-1 take away COLA & other stuff, A-2 take away COLA until 80% & other stuff, A-3 Fortner proposal

  3. Budget, what about the budget?.

  4. Here we go again. Firearm safety is of absolutely no interest to these folks. They define firearm safety as having no access to firearms.

If these lying nitwits used similar language manipulation on auto safety, they would be forcing us to all ride bikes.

Enough with this kind of BS.

  5. So state employees get beat up by the Governor on Wednesday and then by the House on Thursday. Will this all be done by Friday?

Comment by Makandadawg Monday, Mar 4, 13 @ 8:53 pm

  6. You can’t mention your puppy in a post and not include pictures. It ought to be a law…

  7. HB1155

A28 - seems like common sense
A29 - seems a bit over the top for failure to record S/N on transfer a class 4 felony but understand it’s aimed at the straw buyer and I could live with it
A30 - sets up the funding and protects it from being swept, seems OK
A31 - mandate to comply with AG report

As a general comment, I have some problems with the 1,000 foot rule around various locations, including schools. I think there needs to be a clear exemption for the actual property owners of record (as recorded by deed, etc.) within that area to be able to exercise their carry rights on their own property and in their own vehicles.

  8. Thanx for playing copy editor
It might have been nice if you had taken a brush to that hair before beginning your public schedule
