* Believe it or not, but the B.A.F.F.L.E.D. blog has a couple of posts about Statehouse style here and here. Go check ‘em out.
Yes, Statehouse style.
Springfield is not generally known for style, but there are some sharp dressers. Ron Holmes on the Senate Democratic staff is always styling…
Dude, tuck in your shirt!
* The Question: Who’s the most stylish person you know at the Statehouse? Explain.

Ken Dunkin usually has a pocket square and cuff links. It’s a good look for him.
Comment by 47th Ward Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 1:49 pm
You mean other than Rich Miller?
I’ll go with Senator Trotter. Man is always dressed to the nines and never breaks a sweat.
A close second in my book is Senator Radogno. Classic style.

I recommend that you include this category in your end of the year “Golden Horseshoe Awards”. You can call it the “Teddy Brunsvold Most Dapper Dresser Award”.

People, please explain your answers. Thanks.

Rep. Norine Hammond always looks great. Sen. Trotter, of course. Rep. Ford always looks like he stepped out of GQ. But no one compares to Chapin Rose!!
Comment by Anonymous Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 1:58 pm
No one. All their shoes are scuffed from kicking the can down the road.
Comment by Bobbysox Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 1:58 pm
It’s a tie between Dunkin and Trotter. Unless you want to throw John Bradley’s penchant for summer seersucker into the mix.
Comment by Chicago Cynic Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:02 pm
John Feiple and he’s easy on the eyes too.
Comment by Anonymous Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:06 pm
Donnie Trotter………..it’s the bow ties…….not everyone can wear them.
Comment by Keyser Soze Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:14 pm
Well, since Tom Holbrook left, I’m not sure who is the most dapper.
Comment by Observing Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:20 pm
I wouldn’t say it’s a person as much as a caucus… the seersucker caucus that is.

Mayebeth Hadfield. She is just one of those people that has an eye for putting together stylish, classy looks that are as much professional as they are fun. I want to steal her entire closet!

Speaker Madigan, he’s got all those expensive suits and ties (according to Blago).

Deirdre Darnall with the Laborers. Always has it put together, immaculately.
Comment by Whozee Whatsis Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:31 pm
John kelly for sure. His suits are beautiful
Comment by Blogger Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:32 pm
Willie, though of the male persuasion, is just a tad miffed no one has seen fit to give shout outs yet to the ladies. Two jump immediately to mind: Deirdre Darnall, lobbyist for the Laborers (even her lobbyist ID photo is stylish while many look like mug shots or as if the individual just woke up from a three-day bender), and Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, who is hands down the most beautiful woman in the Capitol and always looks like a million bucks. And, not to reduce them simply to the superficial, they are both very pleasant, capable and smart people.

Representative Ann Williams has great style, and she never has an off day.
Second nomination goes to Teddy B:
His always in “three-piece suits and fancy shoes” (Quinn)
He is also known to “eat fancy steaks” and “shuffle around in Gucci loafers” (Blago).
Jokes aside, Ted always looks sharp.

John Kelly. Beacuse his pocket hankies match his boxers. Or so I’m told….
Comment by Knome Sane Thursday, May 30, 13 @ 2:58 pm
Senator Trotter. No contest, ever since (many years ago) I saw him ride up to a Senate Democratic fundraiser at Fraase Farm on a motorcycle. He was wearing faded jeans, LEATHER CHAPS and a bandana around his head. His usual workday attire isn’t too shabby, either.

Coy Pugh, David Dring, Representative Gordon-Booth, Representative Sente, Senators Lightford and Trotter - that’s my list.
They all look sharp nearly all the time. Coy and David and Sen Trotter get points for looking smooth. And Rep Sente wears amazing fabrics. Sen. Lightford even looks good after hours of negotiations. And I’m pretty sure Rep Gordon-Booth would be beautiful in anything!

Victoria Watkins - Have you seen her shoe game?!
Ken Dunkin - I’ve never seen him without polished cufflinks and always has a song to go with the outfit.
Coy Pugh - So smoothe and pulls off the bowties so well.

Rich Guidice has the classic gentleman’s look. Always in a nice suit, nothing out of place, he is a man’s man. He looks like a movie star or Frank Sinatra’s little brother.
Ken Dunkin is the number one stunna.
