To the Updated Post,
If you are a member of the ILGOP, take heed.
This, is real. This, is not speculation. This, is not, “maybe”.
The ILGOP Ticket could very well look like this;
US Senate … Jim Oberweis - Black helicopters, the torches and pitchforks of intolerance, and the 1-6 record, winning a state Senate seat designed to make Oberweis stop ruining My Party and stay somewhere with irrelevence to hurting other GOP candidates. Fail.
Governor … Bill Brady, seen that Movie, bad match for Oberweis on the top, leading to more intolerance issues.
Governor … Bruce Rauner, seen as Rahm Emanuel’s Governor pick and his running mate “Slip and Sue” Sanguinetti who is not even remotely qualified to run the 5th Largest State in America if … Rahm Emanuel’s Governor fails to complete his term.
That is it.
You have Jim Oberweis to highlight intiolerance, and elitism, and “Purity”, with 2 very specific candidates, one who was already defined as “too extreme” and would not be too difficult again with Oberweis on top, and you have Payton Prep Clouter Bruce Rauner, running with Oberweis, both elitist, out of touch, and lacking the governmental acumen to seem to voters as they are alternatives to Durbin or to Quinn.
Jim Oberweis will taint Dan Rutherford, as Rutherford tries to expand the GOP, but Oberweis will be right there, destroying and tainting.
Jim Oberweis will manipulate Kirk Dillard’s new “Right” lean to try ot beat Durbin. Oberweis will not let the Dillard Campaign to “try” to find a middle, as Oberweis will try to attach himself to his Senate Colleague, “Slytherins till the end.”
No one to run against Jesse.
A token AG candidate, I do not envy, but might not realize what he got himself into as he runs … as he is running.
Tom Cross will have a battle against Mike Frerichs. Oberweis is going to help? Cross not voting for SSM… AND …Oberweis on the top of this ticket…sounds like a winning formula?
The only incumbant Republican running statewide is Judy Baar Topinka, who draws the turncoat/AG candidate/now comptroller candidate Sheila Simon. Question is - How much of a drag will Oberweis/Brady, or Oberweis/Rauner be … and how much damage can be done to effect Comptroller Topinka with Oberweis/Rutherford and their seperate “ideas” … Kirk/Brady all over again? How much damage can be done to Comptroller Topinka with Oberweis/Dillard, as Dillard tries to find a middle and Oberweis dragging on Dillard, his Slytherin Senate Colleague?
Throw in Durkin’s “New Day” HGOP and the candidates saddled with Oberweis, as Diversity is the key for those numbers in the House to increase… as they hear and see Oberweis just tainting every one of those races.
This is real. Reality. This is 2014, today, in a snapshot of what My Party is shaking out to put to the voters so they can decide what is best for Illinois.
Funny thing about all those pitchforks and torches and political ice cream, with all those votes that never happened….
The ILGOP SSC tried to save us all from the taint. I guess the SSC never expected the “Stain”… would run for US Senate to finsih what the “Stain” tried to start.

Well, now, after voting no to SB10, and at the rally saying he, Dillard, would veto SB10 as governor, Kirk Dillard just made it a bit more difficult to get Oberweis off his hip if it turns out to be Oberweis/Dillard-Tracy.
Durbin and Quinn have to feel a bit better;
No Primary races, sitting on Cash, and plenty to define our top ticket “nominees”.
Happy Wednesday!

Willie, Is it better to have nobody run against Durbin?
@Grassroots. The polling I saw is exactly opposite of what I’m reading here. Yes Durbin is up by 11% but he loses everywhere but the big one Cook. What is the reason the Dem’s are coming out? The African Americans will show up to help a guy (Durbin) who is pushing amnesty? Or for the guy who wants 30 million in tax money to put the gangbangers in jail instead of promoting jobs in the County/City. Remember unemployment in these areas is over 80% for young black men and the drop out rate is over 60% in these areas; when I’m on the west side the people are reacting as though Durbin wants to lock up their sons. Do you people know the pecentage of x offenders in the 16-25 young men demographic in Lawndale? or Austin and Englewood I’m told it is over 70%. Now you see why they are taking the Durbin/Kirk initiative personally?
If Oberweis does 2 votes per precinct (5074 of them) in Cook than Brady, he can win because of his big wins in the collars.
Comment by votecounter Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 12:38 pm
Votecounter
Lets see–PJQ gets 39% in DuPage and eeks out a win.
Obie’s no name Dem opponent gets 45% in a State Senate race in a District designed to reelect GOPer Chris Lauzen before he went to Kane County Board President.
Durbin gets 45% in the collars and Obie is done–smoked!! That loud thud you hear–that’s the entire GOP ticket getting dropped faster than a hot potato. That is without Obie having as of yet not opened his mouth in this race either.
Comment by train111 Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 12:54 pm
===Is it better to have nobody run against Durbin?===
You are asking the wrong question.
Is it better to have Jim Oberweis run against Durbin, or no one Run against Durbin.
That is the question, and the answer, is no one versus Jim Oberweis.
Why?
Harry Reid - Sharron Angle, the effect on the GOP in Nevada, how everyone had to back away to salvage races, including the Governor’s race which a Brian Sandoval is not a Tea Party, extremeist, who beat … Harry Reid’s son.
Jim Oberweis is a stain on the GOP Brand and will be a drag on the entire ticket.
Comment by Oswego Willy Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 12:54 pm
===That is without Obie having as of yet not opened his mouth in this race either.===
Sharron Angle … all over again.
Add to it the “Right” bend of Brady, which the voters know of already, and “Rahm’s Governor” Bruce Rauner, who will also be a huge target, as will Oberweis, for the Unions (again ‘See - Nevada), or Dillard and his far tilt Right, leaving no room to head to the Center.
Oberweis gets Rutherford/Kim …The Rutherford Crew better look at how Sandoval took out Harry Reid’s kid, while saddled with Sharron Angle.
And today …Oberweis has not said one word to start the downward spiral? Really?
Jim Oberweis is bad for the GOP Brand in Illinois.

Peter Fitzgerald was elected US Senator while supporting many of the same “hateful” positions as Oberweis. Has Illinois evolved that much in fifteen years? Seems to me there was this former state legislator who went on to Congress representing Springfield and he had some really conservative positions of guns and abortion once upon a time, what was his name, Durkin, no, no, it was Durbin. Maybe his tilt to the left reformed him.
Comment by Crikey Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 4:37 pm
Do you have a point, Crikey?
Comment by Small Town Liberal Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 4:48 pm
Crikey, unlike Oberweis, Fitz had serious skills. He also didn’t trumpet his ideology. He also had an incredibly weak opponent. It was also a different time.
Comment by Rich Miller Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 4:51 pm
- Crikey -,
Senator Richard Durbin, the second most powerfull Senator is not Carol Mosely-Braun.
To even compare Mr. Durbin would be a complete disservice to him.
Peter Fizgerald had a weak-funded Moderate who tried to be a “fiscal conservative” against Mr. Fitzgerald and all his money.
Peter Fitzgerald made the race a referendum of “Me or Carol”.
That’s it. It always came down to Senator Mosely-Braun’s baggage versus a new direction.
Jim Oberweis will not have that type of race with Senator Durbin. What Jim Oberweis doesn’t realize is that this race is not a rerun of running against Seantor Mosely-Braun, its a rerun of running the 2010 Harry Reid race, and we still call Harry Reid, Senator.
Comment by Oswego Willy Wednesday, Oct 23, 13 @ 4:58 pm
