By the way, the State Board of Elections is still not showing any paperwork filed by Mid America Fund.
* And while the Rauner campaign has filed amended disclosure reports to list employee names, Jon Zahm points to a complaint filed by Steve Shearer with the State Board of Elections that brings up another topic…
Shearer and Stern have identified another serious problem that has so far eluded the mainstream media. It is the fact that Rauner had staff and campaign activity well before he began reporting to the State. Once he reached $5,000 (until recent years it was $3,000) in loans or spending by the campaign he was required to file and disclose. It is highly questionable if this was done in a timely fashion. Consider:
Shearer is also hoping this ISBE investigation will allow a look into Rauner paying campaign staff and other campaign expenses BEFORE he established his campaign with the ISBE in March 2013. Illinois has a $3,000 threshold for raising or spending money in a campaign effort after which it is mandatory to file a D-1 Statement of Organization establishing a campaign and begin filing quarterly reports disclosing all contributions and expenditures. If this investigation does not investigate those separate potential violations, Shearer is prepared to launch further legal complaints.
The full complaint is here.

All that is left is the “Ground Game”, and the aparatuses that the “3″ can get.
The Airwaves War, for the “3″ directly, is over.
The “2PACS” needed to work about 10 days ago. Then again, I don’t know if they have the money or the firepower to understand that for Rauner, $250K is a wire transfer away.
Outworked, outflanked, outmanuvered. You take your pick, could even be all of those three in taking on any prong of the Rauner Campaign.
The commmodity of time is lost.
Heve to find the “pluses”, vote the “pluses” and outwork Rauner’s Crew from early voting to Election Day.
It’s basically all the “3″ can control now…

I really don’t see how the other three can stand up to this money. Rauner owns the air.
He doesn’t just have his money, he has all the GOP money.

Shearer needs to do more than file silly lawsuits that get little attention from rank-and-file voters. Where is the ad blitz we keep hearing about?!?!

What angle am I missing here? Why would someone spend millions of dollars of their own money to get a job that pays

less than $200k and there is a supermajority against?

Do you think there is a chance Ken Griffin wants to manage some Illinois pension money? Also, regarding the Svenson lease review for Rauner, why doesn’t he just produce the attorney’s comments on the review of the lease?

===What angle am I missing here?===
What angle?
Controlling pensions and pension money.
The destruction for Unions, constitutional or not.
State contracts, State agencies.
A Budget, Billions and Billions, and the deciding where all that money is going to be spent.
Business climate, taxes.
Fighting, even if it leads to state shutdown, with MJM and the Democrats, and even all the career politicans standing in the way of the wealthy wanting state monies to gain more wealth.
$33.7 Billion in Budget dollars.
Why does a Dope run for School Board?
The $8 Million budget in a small town is a huge way to be … impactful to friends.
Why? Money. The wealthy want to hijack a party ripe to be taken over for control of the Illinois Till, how it’s spent, how money is taxed, how Unions are looked at and possibly destroyed …
That, is what is at stake, along with the ILGOP becoming a “Shell Corporation” to be moved on a board at the will of the wealthiy owning My Party.
That clear enough?

If you look at Shearer’s D-2s - there was just one contribution from one union. That’s it. Not much you can do with $45K. Any opponent of Rauner - from the left or right - better get a move-on if they plan to have any impact on the primary. Otherwise, all this hoo-ha about the unions being so against Rauner is just blowing smoke and Rauner was crying wolf. After all, he is buddy buddy with Rahm. The only conclusion one could draw is - they want him to win.

Surprised to not see a Rauner ad during the Super Bowl. Sure its a national audience, but why not with all the money he has.

If Rauner had this race in the bag, he and his major backers wouldn’t need to be putting in quite so much dough. Quarter inch support that was purchased can go up in flames in one ad. Not easily, but it can, and it has before. The more Rauner spends, the bigger the bonfire will be when all he has done so far goes up in flames.
