To the Post,
Quinn will just keep with the positives to try to offset the Negative Rauner narrative all 4 of the GOP Hopefuls are benefitting from.
Power of the incumbency.
If Rauner makes it out of the Primary, he will find that out real quick; Incumbent governors, even unpopular ones at times, are hard to defeat on the one day you need to defeat them.

Illinois and Chicago are beginning to take a national leadership position in business start-ups. Not just image, but hard numbers.
World Business Chicago has helped build momentum in both the high-tech start up world, and the international business relocation arena.
This is what the Civvies of both organizations should be focusing on, more than on pensions and taxes. A better business environment includes a healthier and bigger set of players.
The great business community that helped build this city and state were called “windy” because of their cheerleading around the country and world.
More of that please. And less whining.

You beat me Oswego Willy- the power to spread state money around at election time is the #1 benefit of incumbency. Any good economic news is welcome, no matter who it is coming from IMHO

Most elections are decided by ” The Devil we know ….” Even Republicans aren’t sure who Bruce Rauner is, so more news such as this and it is lights out AGAIN for the GOP if Rauner is their candidate.

Quinn was always considered a gadfly by both parties,but I don’t recall that his character was ever questioned. Character matters in Illinois - particularly after Ryan & Blagoevitch. Again - take Quinn & give points against Rauner.

2 of the 5 bullets above are the same project. But the point is the same. You will see I-294 & I-57 open to traffic along with I-90 from Elgin to Belvidere done in October. And the Circle Interchange will start around then. Timing is everything.

Beyond 3 of 5 being the same project, there is still no significant movement on the much anticipated “Capitol Bill” (misspelling intentional to highlight only government grew!).
What about Quinn’s highly publicized Chicago veterans home that he “broke ground” on for his 2010 election??? No ground broken nearly 4 years later. A lot of smoke and mirrors to hide ineffective leadership in IL.

Tollway interchanges are paid for by the Tollway users. IDOT interchanges are paid for by the gas tax. Those funds cannot be used for purposes other than transportation.

What?
The project has already been bid and awarded.
The project was initially approved by the state in 2009.
Triton College was in charge of the bid according to CDB docs.
