* To put this into a little perspective, Bruce Rauner reported raising more than three times this much in one day last week…
State Sen. Bill Brady’s bargain-basement bid for governor is finally up on the television airwaves.
A spokesman for the Bloomington Republican said the campaign has purchased $100,000 in TV advertising time as the race for the GOP gubernatorial nomination heads into its final days.
The 30-second ad is a “nice looking piece that sells Bill Brady,” spokesman Dan Egler said.
Brady has trailed his three opponents in fundraising through most of the 2014 campaign season. Records show he had about $273,000 in his campaign account at the end of 2013 and has raised about $27,000 since then.
* I asked Comcast what their numbers showed. They said Brady’s claimed total may “include other systems elsewhere in the state,” because their tracking has it at about $20,000 “spread across Chicago and our Central IL markets.”

Is there anyone in Illinois more excited about the hope of a Rauner assault on Dillard?

Hard to see how you could be running for governor much of your adult life and not lock down any regular funders.

Brady is such a complete amateur and brilliantly naïve. He has no idea how his political statements sound outside his own little world and isn’t prepared for any other kind of interpretation. He campaigns like he appears - like he is running for a local library position, that is, if Bill reads - sometimes, I’m not certain.

“$20,000 “spread across Chicago and our Central IL markets.”
That’s a joke, right?

I repeat my offer to Brady: just give that cash to me and I will sing his praises on the internet for a week.
It will be no LESS effective than this cable buy and I’ll be a lot happier so more will be accomplished.

Now here is a guy who knows how to be frugal with other people’s money. What do you bet that based on the votes her receives divided into the money spent, Brady is going to get the most votes for the least amount of money spent? Brady must be Scotch? Personally, I like a guy who is as tight with his own money as well as he is with the taxpayer’s money.
Based on Illinois being almost insolvent, Bill Brady is probably just the guy we need to change our red ink into black ink.

“Scotch”? What is that post, attempted racism?
Comment by corvax Monday, Mar 10, 14 @ 10:42 am
That is pathetic.
“Scotch” is a completely normal term used for centuries as an endearment for someone who is frugal.

people on pensions remember how Brady voted and I wouldn’t give him a nickel to his campaign….VOTE no for Brady and show him how much his yes vote meant to you!!!!!

Brady is running his campaign like a business. His near bankrupt business.

Whatever your party affiliations everyone has to realize the only way Quinn does not get
re-elected is if Dillard wins the primary.
Rutherford and Brady are also rans barring some cataclysmic occurrence.
So it is a two way race to determine if the GOP candidate is either a person who would be more acceptable than Quinn or a person who would be scarier than Quinn.

Without more dough on hand, you just never’ll know if he could’ve made more of a REAL Run at it this time, as opposed to his better-funded, shocking come-from-behind squeaker in 2010…!

Scotch is an alcoholic beverage. A Scot is a person from Scotland where frugality is a genetic trait, not just an attitude. And they drink scotch when it’s on sale.
Word-the major funders for the gang of 3 have been disappointed with their performance over several cycles. Another rich guy (Rauner) comes along and says I can get it done and they say “heck, why not and I won’t get any more s**t at the club too”.
