“Celebrating 100 Years” kind of begs the question:
– eight Bears NFL championships at Wrigley?
– five Cubs NL Pennants at Wrigley?
Something seems to be missing from the “celebration.” Can’t think of what it is, lol.

“Chicago Cubs: Celebrating 100 Years of Failure”
My significant other gets second row box seat tickets occasionally from her boss, so she twists my arm–I mean gently asks me–to go to Cubs games. Every time we go, they lose. Last year, we went to a game in which they were winning. We left a bit early, but they lost the game in extra innings. I was very satisfied at that, because I got another authentic Cubs choke experience.

It will be interesting to see what the Cubs draw on Saturday and Sunday.
After selling out the opener, Sox had 10,600 on Wednesday and 11,000 yesterday. Woof. The wide shots of entire empty sections was painful to see.
Sox should always start with a road trip in hopes of getting some decent weather later in the month.

Willie, if you see Tom Ricketts with a cup out, keep your hands in your pocket.
He’s looking for help on the ballpark. I don’t think the Ricketts knew what they were getting into with Wrigley.

It has been a long trial, but exactly when did winning the World Series become the single measure of success in MLB? When both the Cubs and Sox won their first pennants, there was no World Series. I could stomach winning a pennant or playing in the postseason, which, by the way, the Cubs have done several times. An artificial playoff system was created to cover divisional play and there are several Cubs teams that would have won the National League pennant under the old rules when the regular season decided the pennant, not the playoff system which is really like more like the College World Series or the NHL playoffs. The best regular season team no longer wins out any longer.

Have fun, Willy, (as well as all of the other Die Hards freezin’ their rears off out there today!), and once the Brewskis no longer have the intended effect, to help get you through this Raw day peakin’ around 40ish out there, tryin’ some of their hot cocoa might not be such a bad idea–particularly if that 2 run Cubs’ DEFicit now in the 8th keeps up…! (Ouch)!
Yet, they DO have an Overall Winning Record for Home Openers over these many years, so, keep the Faith, and “Go Cubs Go…!”
