* My former intern Barton Lorimor has a brand new baby girl. Robin Eulaine was born 7 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 inches long. She’s “Very healthy,” according to Barton, and his wife Jenny is doing well, too.
What a cute little baby…

Adorable! I am so happy for you and Jenny.
Here’s a pro-tip on diaper duty: The Sesame Street character always goes in the front. I’m learning a lot from keeping my six-month old granddaughter Lilith this week:)

Remember, Barton, it’s never too early to develop the “crazy man” reputation among the young boys in the neighborhood who inevitably will come around.
Worked for me….

This is incredibly valuable advice to every father who becomes the parent of a “son or a nun”. Practice the wild looking “stink-eye” now. It will pay dividends. Even invite Todd V over once a year. That scares the toughest locals.
Last but not least, here’s an adage: “Once you change diapers, you never chew your fingernails again”.
Peace Barton!

Barton - Keep this line in your back pocket. You’ll need it in 16 years with that cutie.

Thank you, all! And continued congratulations to all of the new Dads. I seem to recall there being quite a few out there. Fortunately mine came after session.
I could not help but notice that it took me 21 years for even a story of mine to appear on Capitol Fax. It took Robin less than three hours to be the subject of a post. She must get her brains from her Mother.
It’s been a good day. Continued thanks to all.

Many Congrats Barton and Mrs. Lorimor. Would that be Red Hair I see?
Comment by Anonymous Tuesday, Jun 3, 14 @ 5:31 pm
Sorry, Barton that was me above. And yes, you won’t sleep more than 2-3 hours a night for the next year. And you now have the best title anyone can have, “Daddy”. As a father of three girls all I can say is you better like drama, and a lot of it. LOL

I don’t think I will be allowed back at work without a Bright Start account.

Barton–congrats and enjoy every minute. Even the exhaustion of the first year will be the best memories of your life. The girls will be 12 in September and while I have loved every minute I regret there weren’t more minutes.
