Within the focused Fritchey’s last ten tweets: Judge Wapner, the World Cup, and what he bought at a farmer’s market.
(I see nothing wrong with these tweets; just think we all can talk about more than one thing).

State senator remove Speaker of the house? hmmm. Senator Duffy you ever read the IL constitution or know anything about separation of powers and state elections? #clueless
Comment by PoolGuy Monday, Jul 14, 14 @ 2:26 pm
What is great about Duffy is that if you respond to one of his posts and do not toe the party line, he uses the “block feature.” Some will do (I hear) if you use certain language, etc. Duffy uses “block” like small children use covering their ears and humming. If he just covers up the sound, he can pretend it wasn’t there.
Dan doesn’t have to make sense with what he posts. There will be no record of people pointing out the error in fact or logic.

We know Duffy is clueless but even he knows Madigan is the guy in the other chamber right? #windbag
Comment by too obvious Monday, Jul 14, 14 @ 2:36 pm
So Duffy has all the “Fire Madigan” t-shirts.
Got to get those sold somehow.

Duffy does block people who post things that he doesn’t like.
Dan Duffy who claims to be holier than the Pope took more than $10,000 from Cancer Cares Treatment Centers of America and their executives and then sponsored a bill that only gave an exemption to that one company. How do you think Duffy would act if it was Mike Jacobs or Mike Madigan that took money and then sponsored special legislation for that company.
He’s a joke. I think that the QOTD should be “Outside of the four leaders, what one legislator would you like to see leave the General Assembly?” I think it would be fun to see the results!

When Rich has the next awards for best legislators of the year, about about recognition for the least effective legislators? There are some well qualified contenders.

As for Lebron Tweets, that is something people can like or hate without it being too serious. 100 shootings is something serious that needs more than twitter.

Good to know I’ve got respectable company on Dan’s block list.
Comment by Goooner Monday, Jul 14, 14 @ 3:05 pm
Did Mr. Fritchey miss the 20+ media articles and online posts concerning this during the past week alone? Is he leading the call for Supt. McCarthy to resign?
If they didn’t write about the issue in India or China, perhaps that is because it is now a more rare occurrence for LeBron to switch teams than 100+ to be shot in Chicago or a politician to express disgust over that fact.
I like his tweets as well as his occasional comment here, but people are tired of tweets, press conferences and tears. They want change, not rhetoric.

More Dan Biss, please. Whip smart and funny to boot.
Comment by The Doc Monday, Jul 14, 14 @ 4:00 pm
FKA - I don’t think those articles detract from Fritchey’s point - the Monday “___ shootings ___ killed” stories are like some weird Chicago violence porn. I think “we want change, not rhetoric” is the point he’s trying to make.
My proudest blocker is Ray Hanania…

Rahm Emanuel has a small fortune available in his campaign funds. I think that the Sun-Times poll is indicative of how widely disliked he is by many Chicagoans, but I still think that he has enough cash on hand to “buy” a second term. He spent bushels of cash in 2011 and posted the worst numbers of any winning mayoral candidate in close to a century.

Thanks, Lake County Democrat. I may have read it differently than you, but always like to give the benefit of the doubt when possible.
I look forward to his leadership on this in more forms than twitter for the duration of his term in office. Also be interesting to her what he has to say about the performance of Mayor Emanuel and Supt. McCarthy.

What is the point of posting if you only want people to agree with you? Some discourse might help your website.

==He spent bushels of cash in 2011 and posted the worst numbers of any winning mayoral candidate in close to a century.==
Not sure how you got that. He got 55+%, which is more than the 52 Harold Washington got. Of course, there was probably a much bigger racist anti-black vote in 1983 than bigoted anti-semitic vote in 2011.

In other Twitter haps, Tony Rezko is now tweeting. I have no idea who is behind this, but in true Tony Rezko fashion, he never says anything we don’t already know:
