* Gov. Pat Quinn’s campaign has been trying since last night to convince reporters, myself included, to write about how, unlike Bruce Rauner, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie disclosed his complete tax returns. Like Rauner, Christie’s wife works in private equity, and yet Christie still chose to release their full returns.
That push continued today when Christie visited Bruce Rauner’s campaign headquarters…
@CThomasABC7 @chrischristie @governorquinn @brucerauner did he agree that Mr. Rauner should disclose his full tax records?

@CThomasABC7 @chrischristie @governorquinn @brucerauner Christie has long disclosed his tax records and he pushed Romney to do the same

* The question was asked, but Christie didn’t take the bait…

* But Christie did say this…
“This race is the one that looks the most like New Jersey in 2009. You have a state that’s typically demographically Democratic. You have a first-time statewide candidate. You have a miserably unpopular governor, with an extraordinarily dispirited citizenry,” he said.
He could very well be right about that.
Rauner, by the way, wasn’t at the event. He took his kid to college today.

I wonder if Rauner took his son to Maine aboard Ken Griffin’s corporate jet or did he fly commercial. If he flew commercial, with storms rolling through Chicago, his commercial flight is certain to be delayed at O’Hare.
No delays reported at Palwaukee Executive Airport, however.

Bob Dold is making the same case against Brad Schneider, since his wife has the bucks and he released his tax return showing him as single-filer this year for the first time (and has not released his returns for previous years where Schneider filed jointly with wifey). Quinn’s gotta be a little careful, no? Of course, Quinn’s attack against Rauner hasn’t stopped Dold from pushing the issue against Schneider. Is it simply every man for himself nowadays? Do the voters even notice the irony?

Anderson’s twitter can be one of the more mean-spirited ones around among public officials and their staff.
Her comments and replies can cross the line from snarky or edgy at times to downright spiteful.

FKA
Her tweets crack me up, especially when she is tweeting about stuff well after working press hours.

New Jersey is in such great shape, with the corporate tax cuts and weak job growth.
Plus, Rauner’s going around attacking Quinn for being unethical, while getting campaign visits from Christie, whose administration has serious ethical questions.

The comparison between New Jersey circa 2009 and Illinois circa 2014 is dead on. Christie was able to overcome a traditionally blue state and I am hopeful that Rauner will doe the same! #undisputedthatraunerisverywealthy #notinterestedinhistaxreturns #illinoisneedseffectiveleadershipnow

OneMan - for the most part, it’s all good and part of being a strong supporter for her candidate.
Others, like this reply today, seem more like a child making fun of someone just to do so
Natasha Korecki - Evelyn Sanguinetti was at news conference with Chris Christie while Rauner out of town.
Brooke Anderson - did she speak to her magical powers?

Not that Christie is a model of decorum himself.

I find it hard that the tax form thing polls so high that Quinn would keep pushing that issue. I get it, Bruce is rich. He isn’t “one of us.” What else ya got?

What else? He isn’t “one of us.” and Bruce is rich.

Oy. To have Chris Christie come to campaign for you reminds me of when George W. Bush came to Peoria to campaign for Aaron Schock. Poor Schock looked like a deer in the headlights when they told him that. Apparently Rauner is unaware of Christie’s reputation.

Oh boo-hoo!
We’re being made fun of!
What Christie said is correct. If you don’t agree with what he said, then tell us why he is wrong. But stop it with the insults and strawman attacks.
Polls show that a majority of Illinoisans agree with him. Prove him wrong or address the issue. All I’ve read so far agrees with Christie in the refusal to address his statement.
