Anytime someone feels the need to wave the flag in the opening shot, you know they’ve got nothing.
What was the “demonizing” of “job creators?” Do they mean Rauner? What jobs did he “create?”
News flash — we’re a consumer-driven economy. If they ain’t buying, nobody’s selling. Consumers are the “job creators” not paper-shuffling hustlers like Rauner.

Meh. Not great, not good, just mediocre. But let’s all remember that the goal of these guys is to say one thing: Pat Quinn=BAD. It does that.
The “call Pat Quinn…” bit is to qualify using 501(c)(4) funds - disclosed only to the IRS, not the state board of elections.

This line is essential to classifying the ad as “issue advocacy” and not political campaign activity as defined by the SCOTUS. We all know what is going on but if they do not include that line they can loose their 501c(4) status and would have to disclose who their donors are.

Consumers don’t take the risks personally and financially to open a business. To state that “consumers are the job creators” and imply the business owners are just vanilla middle man with no real say or risk in what they do is flat out insulting.

Most of us have figured out that “trickle down” is yellow, not green. Never worked because the wealthy simply hold onto the money and redistribute it amongst themselves. Thoroughly discredited economic theory.

Yes, and potential new business owners only act when they think consumer are ready to spend. If consumers don’t spend (because they have no money), there is no incentive for anyone to open a business other than to take someone else’s market share. And the net economic effect of that activity is ZERO.

First Quinn’s lousy wine web ad and now this. If “job creators” comprised 51% of Illinois voters, this might be a good ad. This line of attack didn’t work for Romney in ‘12, and it won’t for Rauner in ‘14.

Not a very effective ad. Only modest + for pointing out Quinn’s failures as a Governor. Otherwise directed at a very small audience who already ids in their corner.

“Job creators” is the ultimate phoney-baloney term of our current political situation. It’s all part of the GOP strategy to fetishize employers and downgrade employees as worthless.
Sad to see this floating around. Criticize Quinn for his many mistakes, but are we supposed to believe that he is really against jobs?

It doesn’t count if you’re a job creator creating jobs overseas. Business owners aren’t useless middlemen by any means, and they’re compensated handsomely for their risk. But they are the tail. The consumer is, well, the big dog in our demand-driven economy. Give a buck to someone making as much as 100K, and they’ll spend it, thus helping the economic recovery. Give an extra buck to Rauner, and he’ll likely put it towards a house in the Caymans, thus NOT helping the economic recovery…here in the states that is.

Good enough to frame the issue of whether Governor Quinn is good or bad for private sector employment. Obviously directed to majority of voters who know little or nothing about government and may pay attention a little at election time. Truth is irrelevant. They vote based on emotion. Presume more ads featuring this issue coming. This was just an appetizer.

As some of you said, this ad spits out false cliches, like “job creator.”
Speaking of demonization, it’s the Kochs who through their politicians and front groups masquerading as news outlets demonize unions and don’t support raising the minimum wage or even a conservative version of universal health insurance, i.e. Obamacare.
