* From earlier today. Fairly wide array of topics. Quinn did his best to appear upbeat about the state’s economic prospects, and came off fairly well…

As long as he doesn’t sprinkle in any more “I always do what’s right” and “good heart” boasts while implying others are bad people, all is well.

George Harris and George Halas, no relation, lol. kinda funny. He’s the engineer on the Job Train, get on. This is good stuff.
Just can’t help liking the guy. I’d like him retired even more.

I think he is reaching his comfort zone in the election cycle. He sounds cool and calm as opposed to his opponent. He is a very seasoned politician running against a rookie who has come unglued lately

I’ve always liked Pat Quinn. I just wish the IL GOP had picked someone who didn’t scare me into voting for him again.

Impromptu presser yesterday afternoon, another today.
I think Quinn is planting a seed with the working press that one guy can go off script and take any question.

“came off fairly well”?
Is that sarcasm?
He makes John McCain look like a game show host. Recycled democratic talking points from the 2008 Presidential Election, delivered by a Mr. Magoosh political hack of a bygone era. He can’t connect. He can’t relate. He references ancient relatives to patch together some semblance of a personality. He repeats stale and tired buzz phrases throughout a robotic syntax. His blankness is exhausting.

Trying to think of a less compelling group of words than “Quinn presser raw audio” and coming up with nothing.
Warm beer and uncomfortable seats?

===As long as he doesn’t sprinkle in any more “I always do what’s right” and “good heart” boasts while implying others are bad people, all is well.===
There are at least two different kinds of people who would say stuff like that and genuinely believe what they say from the very bottom of their hearts.
There are the psychopathic personality types like Blagojevich, basically born-to-be con-artists who are able to persuade themselves of their own lies.
And there are the goody-two-shoes types like David Orr, who really believe they’re an ethical person. Quinn really believes THAT’S the kind of guy he is.
When it comes to psychopathy, Pat Quinn just ain’t making it. Love him or hate him, he has his faults, flaws and deficiencies, but a psychopath he ain’t.
His opponent Bruce Rauner, by contrast, reminds a lot of people of Blagojevich, and for good reason. Read the literature and it practically jumps out at you that he is a classic, sub-clinical psychopath.
Only a psychopath would have the chutzpah to accuse the excessively goody-two-shoes Pat Quinn of really being an evil, corrupt, Outfit criminal mastermind.
If Pat Quinn is not the bumbling fool he seems to be, how come he forgot to steal any money? Show me the money! Brucie would NEVER forget the money.
So maybe Bruce was wrong. Maybe Pat Quinn really is a bumbling fool because he forgot to take any money for himself! GTCRauner would never hire him.

Ah, the frumpy, frowzy governor has been replaced with a warm, jocose candidate. What can’t a poorly done poll do for the soul?
Seriously, fake polling almost won Hubert H Humphrey the presidency. They released bad internal polling until they almost became reality. So that burst of self confidence (and his opponent’s constant terse grumpiness) could very well make fantasy a reality.

And the press are cringing at the prospect of rambling Quinn going off script.

Mighty M. Mouse,
I think you nailed it. I think we can all agree, at least to a certain degree, that Gov. Quinn could have done a better job in the last four years. But we should also all be able to agree that he’s not some sort of corrupt, evil sociopath.
