* The DCCC has an updated version of its “truck ad” on the air in the 10th Congressional District…
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching its latest ad in Illinois’ 10th Congressional District, showing how Bob Dold is just another run-of-the-mill Republican who the Tea Party can rely on – since he has already voted to restrict women’s healthcare choices, limit access to birth control and defund Planned Parenthood, which reduces access to affordable health care for women like cancer screenings. The ad starts today.

I most likely missed the discussion on Pat Quinn’s latest advertisement using significant military footage. I tried to find it on his youtube page, but I can’t find it. I saw it last night during the news.
I believe Ann Callis did something similar, and some thought it was borderline. I thought she was OK as well.
However, I feel that Quinn went well beyond that line with usage of uniformed soldiers in his advertisement. What is the actual law / rule for servicemen and servicewomen in using uniforms in political ads?

The anti-Dold ad has a light tone and touch, which makes it watchable at this point, and not cringe-worthy as just another ugly attack ad.
Still surprised at how much party labeling is so central to Schneider’s strategy. He must know something we don’t.

Callis is burning thru her remaining campaign cash. She would be better off donating it to another candidate, with a chance to win or just donate it to the DNC.

In the 2010 primary, Dold had a planeload of tea party fanatics fly into the district to trash his opponent. He courted the tea party and promised them anything. Now the chickens are coming home to roost!

Why? His district is clearly Democratic-leaning. Dold and Kirk built up their own brand in that seat. Convincing people they’re just another party line Republican is Schneider’s easiest path to reelection. Generic D will best Generic R every time in that seat.

I gave up on Schneider as a congressman over a year ago and I have, as of now, given up trying to understand or make sense of his re-election campaign strategy in the 10th. Guess we’ll just have to wait to get the answer on Nov. 4.

I’ve already voted, so all of these ads are just money wasted on me. I just wish my SmartTV was smart enough to read my “I Voted” sticker and mute the sound.
