I hope that he plans to change this by 1/1/15, since the Job Opportunities for Qualified Applicants Act will prohibit inquiring into an applicant’s criminal background during the application process.

Are these minimum wage jobs we’re talking about here, or does he expect these employees to work for tips?

Actually, as I read the statute, Governments are not bound by the Job Opportunities for Qualified Applicants Act.
From the act: “‘Employer’ means any person or private entity that has 15 or more employees in the current or preceding calendar year, and any agent of such an entity or person.”

And the main index page leading into this jobs page has a bright red “DONATE” button in the top right corner.
How much does one have to donate to get a job in the Baron von Carhartt administration?

Standard stuff, I agree.
The real question is whether they will actually use these submissions to consider employment and appointment, or whether this (like so many other transition web sites) just leads to a black hole.
Honestly, no snark. Just saying that it would be a real change if the web site was actually used for recruitment instead of just public relations.

One of my favorite movies is Kevin Smith’s “Jersey Girl”
Roger Ebert’s review
http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/jersey-girl-2004
I won’t give too much away, but “To the Post”…
There is a scene where the lead character is on a job interview (Ben Affleck), being interviewed by 2 publicists (Matt Daman Jason Lee) and the interview is really about meeting the Lead whose career “history” is legend.
The lead is told, “You’re a legend. We bow to you!”
“You think enough of me to give me a job?”
The interviewers laugh and say “no way”
Great scene. When I read some of the questions, made me think of that scene immediately.

Apply now for a job with extremely low prospect of a pay raise, if not a furlough here and there, that will supervise a decreasing staff with less funding. Expect frequent criticism, long thankless hours, and micromanagement from young gubernatorial staffers whose egos are bigger than their knowledge base.

It could be shorter. Just two questions:
1) Are you now, or have you ever been a member of the Democrat Party?
2) Are you now, r have you ever been a member of a union?

Recruiter: Have you ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor? That’s robbery, rape, car theft, that sort of thing.
John Winger: Convicted? No.
Russell Ziskey: Never convicted.

What issues does the Rauner administration consider “controversial”?
Comment by Carl Nyberg Tuesday, Nov 18, 14 @ 11:32 am
“Illinois Is Back”
I guess just the sheer force of Bruce’s personality has brought us “back.” Of course, if one were to believe his budget plans then “back” means the good old days of not paying our bills, spending without adequate revenues, and a growing pension mess.

- Colossus -, it really speaks to how good Kevin Smith is a a writer, as Ebert notes in the review. Our good taste is well founded here. I enjoy how Smith goes about his business.
Two things worked against it in acceptance; JLo, which she was severely edited out because of the “Bennifer” thing and Ben having to carry the story, which he did, but few gave him the credit he deserved.
George Carlin? How great was he? Worth the watch.

Speaking of potential embarrassing information: According to the Chicago Tribune story, the website has a section asking for donations of $25 to $5,000 for transition. That’s an embarassing news story just waiting to happen if a donor also gets a job.
