Great Keith Richard tune! I might argue his best effort.

It is an amazing song from a long time ago. I think I remember it. I think it was played on WLS a lot.

Great rocker. “Happy” debuted on the WLS Silver Dollar Survey at #23 on July 31, 1972. Kept slowly climbing and got up to 17 the week of August 21st.
Aug. 28th it was gone.
All along “Brandy” by Looking Glass was climbing and was #1 that week. So sad.

In his autobiography, Keith says that he wrote this song in the matter of an hour or so while the rest of the band was en route to his French pad to work on Exile. If I’m not mistaken, Keith also played all the instruments save drums.
When the question inevitably comes up, what’s the greatest Stones song, I’m tempted to choose a track where Keith does the singing. Probably Before They Make Me Run.
