* Illinois Review has a list of conservatives who are endorsing state Sen. Darin LaHood for Congress…
Rev. Bob Vanden Bosch, Concerned Christians of America
Paul Caprio, Director, Family PAC
Denise Cattoni, Founder, Illinois Tea Party*
State Senator Sam McCann (R-50)
State Senator Kyle McCarter (R-54)
State Representative Tom Morrison (R-54)
State Senator Jim Oberweis (R- 25)
Dan Proft, conservative radio talk show host
Penny Pullen, former Illinois State Representative & President, Eagle Forum of Illinois
Ralph Rivera, Chairman, Illinois Citizens for Life Federal PAC
Bobby Schilling, former Congressman (IL-17)
Paul Schimpf, former Illinois Attorney General candidate
David Smith, Executive Director, Illinois Family Institute
Joe Walsh, former Congressman (IL-8)*title for identification purposes only
Anybody who says LaHood isn’t a tea partier is out of their freaking minds.
* Meanwhile…
Monday [was] the final day to file nominating papers for the July 7 primary. Donald Reints of Benson and Mike Flynn of Quincy have filed paperwork to challenge Darin LaHood in the Republican primary. Adam Lopez of Springfield and Rob Mellon of Quincy have filed to run as Democrats.
Everybody I know who has met with Mike Flynn in recent weeks has come away impressed. Despite his hardcore reputation, he’s apparently a nice guy. We’ll see if he gathered enough petitions.

“Anybody who says LaHood isn’t a tea partier is out of their freaking minds.”
That leaves about 50% of the Tea Party.

If there’s a sliver of room to the right of this endorsement list, it’s hard to imagine. This is the cutting edge of the right edge. I don’t see a flank opportunity there whatsoever. He’s not his old man by a long shot.

Nice guy or not, he is running a vanity campaign because he has no real position differences with LaHood.
He has no reason to run, except ego.

Oh looky. All the people who kissed Rauner’s behind are endorsing LaHood.

I cannot imagine what Adam Lopez is thinking. If he wants to move up, he could finally be the candidate who gets over the top against that horrible Sue Scherer.

BLGM - I’m trying to figure that out as well. Or at least challenge Rep. Poe or, if Rep. Poe resigns, his Rep. Poe’s replacement.
Some of these endorsements seem like fillers. Would even the most hardcore GOP primary voters know who they are? The legislators and former Congressman are a nice touch, but the other persons appear to be superfluous additions.
I’m surprised that Senator LaHood sought the McCann “endorsement”. Given what Senator McCann pulled last year and given his battles with Leader Radogno, I’m not sure having him on that list is the best idea. But that’s just me.

I’m surprised that Senator LaHood sought the McCann “endorsement”.
The congressional district crosses into McCann’s district? They have known each other in the GA a long time? They think alike?
McCann out TEA Party’s Flynn. There is no reason for conservatives to support LaHood if they take into consideration where he stands on the issues, and not who his father is and where his father stood on the issues. Daryl has a long enough record for any conservative to be confident that he can take that record, plus his experiences and do a better job than the “nice” Flynn who has nothing to offer voters.

Walsh? Whew… glad you got that one in the bag! I mean a Walsh endorsement can only help, right?

The folks at Republican Man Street Partnership disagree with you.

Dave-
It’s a game of addition, not subtraction. La Hood is being marketed as a Tea Party Mainstream Republican, 99 44/100’s pure. I am sure there will be people who vote against him because they didn’t like his dad.

Geez, and I thought it was bad living in Schock’s district. This is going to be Tparty hell.

Most of these folks are to the right of the average Tea Partier.

Sorry, but this looks like Tea Party endorsement to me.

Schock was a Tea Party darling once too. Just saying.
