So, Governor Rauner, you announced a series of cuts totaling $400 million from a budget you have promised to veto, I’m confused. Can you explain?
And a follow-up, even with $400 million in cuts, you’d still need to cut almost $3 billion more to balance the Democrats’ budget. You couldn’t manage to cut $26 million from the current budget without backtracking, why should anyone believe you’re serious now when you talk about draconian cuts?

Maryann, thank you for the opportunity to explain my agenda. You see, I’m not anti-middle class. But, in talking with my buddies at the country club, the consensus is that Illionois’s middle and lower classes are spoiled. If one of them gets injured on the job, instead of thanking us for allowing them to work when they were healthy, they want us to pay them compensation benefits for doctors and such. We need to turn Illinois around, turn back the clock if you will, if Illinos wants to remain competitive with countries where the little workers have no rights.
