Just a tad bit hyperbolic? It’s as if Sam Adams returned.

Nothing is at stake. Nothing at all. So, you needn’t fight on.
Comment by A guy Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:38 pm
What else is he going to do? He still has a lot of time to kill.
Comment by Wordslinger Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:40 pm
Kind of poignant and sad, in a way. Reminds me of the poor Japanese soldier they found on a deserted island a decade or more after the war was over, he had to be convinced there was no more fighting to be done.

Time for another poll about reducing his sentence as it is clear that time served has not produced the humility we all hoped he would gain.

Somewhere right now a new brush being prepared for service.

I thought what was at stake was prison time? Hmm.. Maybe I missed something.

Who the hell is Rod Blagojevich?
Comment by VanillaMan Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:45 pm
Oh Rod, your cause is just. Someday, your sale of a Senate seat will be recognized as the civil rights battle of our era, eclipsing the gay marriage ruling.
Comment by Tournaround Agenda Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 2:50 pm
Perhaps Blago’s point is: If I’m in this hell hole everyone else who pays to play should be too.

This self-professed average student never cared what the rule of law was before. Let him ponder that point a lot longer.

Rich,
Don’t understand your penchant to be dismissive of those characters who provided drama and suspense for all these years.
In fact, if I recall correctly, you even got on a bus with him and thought he was an OK guy for awhile there.
How can a guy like Blagojevich ever truly go away?
Where’s your sentimentality?

Is cannabis legal in Colorado prisons?

Let him keep talking, as a monument to what got us all in this mess in the first place.
Comment by Southern Illinois Hoopdee Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:09 pm
Although it pains me to say this, he has every right to fight on to the bitter end.
Comment by Louis G. Atsaves Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:11 pm
I hope he gets out in time to run for the U.S. Senate seat he tried to sell. That would be the best reality television ever.

His fight, my apathy.
Comment by JS Mill Tuesday, Aug 4, 15 @ 3:22 pm
Vole - pot is legal in Colorado. However since Blagojevich is in federal prison, pot would be considered contraband and cause for more time in prison. We could only hope …

Can we send him to a prison in Iran? North Korea? Then we will never hear from him again.

The rule of law? As a rule, you can’t break the law without consequences.

Any drug available on the street is available in any Prison…ask any Convict.

Boy, all I wanted was to sell one US Senate seat. Now this Rauner guy has bought the entire IL GOP with all it’s seats, and nobody got in trouble. It just isn’t fair!

It is very interesting that the many readers of Capital Fax who voted for Rod, sought jobs from him, contributed to him, and so on…long after the political establishment knew exactly who he was…are so eager to brush this under the table.
This is a free country and he has every right to further appeal his sentence.
How about some readers of Capitol Fax coming clean on their own sins during the Blog years?

I wasn’t ready to retire, but I took the 2002 ERI rather than work for Blago.

I sinned during the Blago years. I found myself taking the Lord’s name in vain quite a bit.
